The kitchen was bustling with the usual noise, the clinking of plates and the hum of idle chatter as the exes casually gathered around the table. Killer was leaning against the counter, poking at some food, while Dust scrolled through his phone with an occasional grunt. Cross was tapping a spoon against the side of his mug, clearly lost in thought. Fell, however, was leaning back in his chair, looking completely disinterested in the conversation until Nightmare walked in.

Nightmare, as always, exuded a certain level of arrogance, his tall frame looming in the doorway as he glanced around the room.

Nightmare: "Hey, Fell, you gonna date somebody anytime soon?"

Fell froze mid-bite, the spoon in his hand lingering in the air. He looked up slowly, his gaze narrowing as he processed the question.

Fell: "Hell no."

The response was immediate and sharp. Killer, Dust, and Cross exchanged glances at the sudden hostility in his voice, but it was Nightmare's next question that made Fell lean forward with a frustrated sigh.

Nightmare: "Why not? You're not getting any younger."

Fell scoffed, dropping his spoon onto the plate with a loud clatter. He leaned back in his chair, his arms folding across his chest.

Fell: "Because my brother would break that man into two—or me."

There was a brief, awkward silence in the room as everyone tried to process what Fell had just said. Killer raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a grin.

Killer: "Your brother?"

Fell gave a short, dry laugh, clearly irritated by the topic.

Fell: "Yeah, my brother. He's... three times my size now and an asshole to boot. So, no. I'm not about to let him find out I'm dating anyone, because I'd end up dead either way."

Nightmare blinked, clearly taken aback by Fell's response. For a moment, he didn't know how to react to the admission.

Nightmare: "He sounds... lovely."

Fell shot him a dry look.

Fell: "Yeah, lovely is one word for it."

The exes, who had been quietly observing from across the room, had heard every word. Killer's smirk had only widened at the mention of Fell's brother, and Dust looked genuinely curious. Cross, however, looked unusually concerned.

Killer: "So, this brother of yours... he's that protective?"

Fell's eyes narrowed.

Fell: "You don't get it. He's not just protective. He's violent, unpredictable, and bigger than all of us combined. No one's gonna want to deal with that."

Dust: "That sounds... complicated."

Fell chuckled bitterly.

Fell: "You think? My brother practically destroyed half the neighborhood when he was 10. Now imagine what he'd do if I told him I was dating someone."

The room was quiet for a moment. Cross shifted uneasily in his chair, clearly wrestling with his own thoughts. Killer, on the other hand, was processing the information with his usual flair for sarcasm.

Killer: "So, no love for you, huh? Not even a little bit of romance on the horizon?"

Fell shook his head, letting out a long sigh.

Fell: "Not unless you all want me to get murdered. Seriously, if I even think about dating someone, my brother will hunt them down like a damn dog."

Nightmare crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow.

Nightmare: "You're making it sound like you have no control over your life."

Fell's jaw tightened, and the tension in the room grew heavier. He stood up, shaking his head as he walked toward the counter, clearly frustrated.

Fell: "I don't want to get anyone hurt. That's all. And I'm definitely not letting anyone get close to me when they have to worry about my brother."

Killer, sensing the growing tension, leaned forward with a grin, trying to lighten the mood.

Killer: "You know, I think I'd like to meet this 'brother' of yours. Sounds like a fun time."

Fell shot him a glare, his tone biting.

Fell: "Fun time? Yeah, right. I'll take a rain check on that one, Killer."

Dust let out a soft sigh, the humor in his eyes fading for a moment as he spoke.

Dust: "This is why you push everyone away, huh? You're afraid of what could happen if you let someone in."

Fell froze, his back stiffening as he glanced over at Dust. The words hit a little too close to home. He didn't respond immediately, letting the silence stretch before he finally muttered a reply.

Fell: "Maybe."

The room grew quiet again, the weight of Fell's words hanging in the air. None of them pushed him further, sensing that this was a line he wasn't ready to cross just yet.

Nightmare, who had been standing off to the side, raised an eyebrow but said nothing. He was used to Fell's secrecy, and this only deepened the mystery of the red skeleton.

The tension in the kitchen seemed to ebb slightly as the exes exchanged glances. They had all been in relationships with Fell, and yet none of them had known this side of him—the side that was scared to truly let anyone get close.

It was something they couldn't ignore, even if they tried.

In this chapter, the dynamics between Fell and his exes shift as they learn more about the reasons behind his reluctance to date anyone new. Fell's protective brother adds a layer of complexity to his relationships, leaving the exes with more questions than answers. Let me know if you want to develop this further!
