The kitchen was eerily quiet, the air thick with the remnants of the tension that had been lingering in the room. Fell stared at his phone screen, his thumb hovering over the keyboard. The messages from Underfell had made him feel like he was being cornered, pushed into a box he didn't belong in. Whore. Hoe. Disappointment. Those words repeated in his mind like a broken record.Fell took a deep breath, trying to center himself before finally typing out a message. His fingers were steady, his heart pounding as he hit "send."
Message sent to Underfell group chat:
"I AM NOT A WHORE. I did not jump from one guy to the next. No, these all happened at different times. And the 6th guy? His name was Dream. And you know what? I just wanted to be loved. Is there anything wrong with that? Everyone I dated? I'm on good terms with them. So, stop acting like I've done something unforgivable. I'm tired of this crap."
The second Fell hit send, his phone vibrated non-stop as the messages flooded in. He could almost hear the collective gasp from Underfell as they read his words. It wasn't the response he had been expecting, but it was one that felt necessary.
Asgore:
"Fell, I... I didn't realize it was like that. I didn't mean to judge you. But you know, I just want what's best for you."Toriel:
"I... I didn't know. I just worried for you. I didn't want you to make choices that would hurt you in the long run. I'm sorry for overreacting."Flowey:
"Well, I don't know what you were expecting, but I told you not to listen to people. They always talk."Mettaton:
"Oh darling, I never meant to imply anything like that. You know I support you no matter what, right? I just think you should have a little more fun, but hey, it's your life."Gaster:
"I'm disappointed. I didn't raise you to be so reckless. But I guess you've made your choices. Just... be careful next time."Undyne:
"You can't just want to be loved, Fell. You gotta earn it! Look at all the mess you've made—everyone's been talking about you, you know."Asriel:
"Fell... I just want you to be happy, but... maybe don't date so many people at once? It gets confusing."Fell scrolled through the responses, his hand trembling slightly. Some were apologetic, others less so, but all had one thing in common—they were confused, judging, and trying to rationalize his actions.
It wasn't long before Edge's message popped up, the one Fell had been half-expecting, half-dreading.
Edge:
"Fell... You're a fucking idiot. I don't care how many you've been with or when, but stop acting like it's everyone else's fault. You always want to play the victim, don't you? You've got no one to blame but yourself. And if you think I'll go easy on you, think again."Fell stared at the message, his stomach sinking. Edge's words always hit harder than anyone else's, and this one felt like a punch in the gut. But Fell wasn't backing down this time. He wasn't going to let his brother get to him. He had said his piece, and now he needed to stand firm.
Fell's reply to Edge:
"I'm not playing the victim, Edge. I've owned my choices. If you can't accept that, maybe you're the one who's not mature enough to understand. I'm done letting you control my life."Nightmare, who had been silently observing the whole interaction, spoke up. He didn't look at Fell, but his voice was quiet yet firm.
Nightmare:
"Well, at least you're sticking up for yourself. That's something."Killer, Dust, and Cross all nodded, giving Fell silent support. Dust was the first to speak.
Dust:
"You did the right thing, Fell. Sometimes, people just need a little reminder that you're your own person."Cross:
"Yeah. Don't let anyone get inside your head. You don't need anyone's approval, especially not from a bunch of hypocrites."Fell let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. The weight of the day was still heavy on him, but having his friends here, backing him up, made it a little easier to handle. They didn't judge him, and that meant more than anything coming from Underfell at the moment.
He closed his eyes for a moment, then typed one last message to the group chat:
Fell:
"I don't need to explain myself to any of you. I'm not some toy to be passed around, and I'm not a mistake. You may not understand my choices, but I don't need your judgment anymore. I'm done."He hit send and set the phone down on the table. He felt lighter, a little freer, and though he wasn't sure where the road ahead would take him, for the first time that day, he felt like he had some control.
The buzzing from his phone eventually stopped. It was a small victory, but for Fell, it was everything.
