Agastya Pov

The flight had been long and exhausting, but my mind was far from relaxing. I'd flown across continents before without a second thought, yet this time, something felt different. It wasn't the new company acquisition weighing on me, surprisingly-it was her. The girl I'm now bound to by a marriage I didn't choose. Riya.

I stepped out onto the balcony, hoping the cool night air might clear my head. But then I saw her, leaning against the balcony railing, her gaze distant as if she were lost in her own world. In the dim light, I couldn't ignore how striking she looked. She wore an outfit that was so unlike anything I'd seen her in back in India, where she was always covered in traditional attire. Here, her shorts barely skimmed her thighs, revealing the soft curves of her hips and toned legs, and the camisole hugged her in ways I hadn't anticipated. Her hair fell loosely around her shoulders, a cascade of dark waves that caught the light as the gentle breeze swept them back.

*What the hell is she wearing?* My eyes trailed over her, unable to look away. Every line, every soft curve, was somehow pulling me in. And then, suddenly, she turned, her eyes finding mine. For a heartbeat, we both just stared. Her gaze was curious at first, as if she was trying to figure out who I was in this half-light, but the moment she recognized me, she stiffened. Without a word, she disappeared into her room.

I don't know what came over me. It was like my legs moved on their own, taking me across the hall to her door. I didn't knock, didn't stop to think-just walked straight in. She stood there, her eyes wide like a startled deer. The vulnerable look in her eyes should have made me pause, but instead, it spurred something wild and possessive in me. I closed the distance between us, took her hands, and pinned them against the wall, pressing her back with my body. One hand gripped her waist, feeling the warmth of her skin beneath the thin fabric.

She smelled like lavender, her hair falling around her shoulders in loose waves that framed her face. For a moment, I forgot why I'd been so irritated by her outfit, so maddened by her defiance. I was lost, and before I knew it, my lips found hers. She was warm and soft, her lips tasting sweeter than I could have imagined. I could have kissed her forever, letting this feeling consume me.

But then, out of nowhere, she kicked me. Hard. The pain jolted me back to reality, and I stumbled back, stunned. She looked at me with a mixture of defiance and anger, shouting for me to get out.

Fuming, I stormed out, slamming the door behind me. *How dare she reject me?* I reached my room, still feeling the sting of her rejection-and her kick. Anger coursed through me, but something else simmered beneath it, something I couldn't quite name. I knew I shouldn't have acted like that, shouldn't have lost control. But every time she was near, my mind spun, and reason slipped away.

Even on the flight, she'd been a distraction. She was always chewing on her lip, laughing at some silly book she was reading, or fidgeting, making every little movement feel like it was intended to drive me crazy. *I don't even like her,* I told myself, running a hand through my hair. *This attraction is purely physical. Nothing more.*

Resolving to clear my head, I lay down, closing my eyes. But even in the silence, the memory of her lingered, making it nearly impossible to banish her from my thoughts.
