Chapter 2: The Transformation of Riya

Riya sat by the window of her Warsaw apartment, reflecting on how much had changed. Once an awkward, average-looking girl, she had grown into a woman who could effortlessly turn heads wherever she went. In her younger days, Riya was often overlooked, with her thin frame, crooked teeth, and thick specs that shielded her big doe-like eyes. But now, there was something about her that drew attention, even in a crowd. Her stomach was flat, her hips were normal, but her figure was undeniable-her breasts were bigger than normal, something impossible to ignore. People who once paid her no mind now found themselves turning for a second glance.

Despite her fuller figure, her transformation hadn't come with the burden of extra weight in unwanted places. She was curvy in all the right ways, and her face had gained a softness that only enhanced her beauty. Her big, expressive eyes, once hidden behind thick spectacles, still gave her a unique charm, though her specs had become a part of her character. She was no longer the girl people ignored-she was someone who commanded attention, whether she meant to or not.

As she packed her bags to return to India, Riya couldn't shake the unease that had settled in her chest. She had been called back due to her grandfather's declining health, and she was prepared for the emotional toll it would take. But what she didn't know was that something else awaited her in Mumbai-something she had never expected. A marriage proposal, orchestrated by her family, was waiting for her, though she remained blissfully unaware of it.

She was so focused on her responsibilities-caring for her younger sister Priya, managing the mountain of debt left behind by her brother Aditya, and working to support her family-that the idea of marriage seemed distant, almost irrelevant. Yet, it loomed in her future, a chapter she had yet to read, though everyone else around her seemed to know how it would unfold.

Riya's life had always been full of challenges. Her mother had passed away after a long battle with abdominal cancer, leaving Riya shattered but also taking on the role of caretaker for her family. She adored her mother, and losing her was a blow she had never fully recovered from. Her father, once a loving man who worked as an electrical engineer for ICC Oil Company in Dubai, had become distant after her mother's death. He no longer worked, having lost his job when her mother fell ill, and had since withdrawn from family life, leaving Riya to bear much of the burden.

Her brother Aditya, who had once shown promise, had made things worse by starting a business that failed spectacularly. He had opened a hospital with the wrong partner and accumulated massive debts, some from legitimate sources and others from dangerous lenders. Riya's grandparents, who had once lived comfortably, lost all their savings trying to support their grandson's venture, only for it to end in disaster.

Now, with her mother gone and her father emotionally absent, Riya was left to manage the household. She had taken out loans from various NBFCs to cover the expenses, including the costs of Priya's education. Her sister was still young, and Riya was determined that at least one of them would have a stable future. The weight of her responsibilities bore down on her daily, but she faced them with quiet determination.

Living in Poland, far away from the chaos that was her family's financial situation in India, Riya had managed to build a life of her own. Yet, even there, her thoughts were never far from home. Every decision she made was tied to the well-being of her family, even if they didn't always appreciate the sacrifices she made.

In her mind, the trip to Mumbai was just another duty to fulfill. She would see her family, tend to her grandfather, and then return to her life in Warsaw. Little did she know, life had other plans.
