I had left early im the morning to do some chores here and there and by afternoon ended up in shinwha, there was after all some work which needed to be taken care of

I didn't notice when the sun had set, but i had been getting a feeling in my gut, something was telling me something was going to happen

But i just shook that negativity away, which only came to bite me back

Seeing kayden come to jiyoung was what confirmed the feeling in my guts to be true

"jiwoo is.. Missing?" my stomach churned as worse and worse scenarios came to mind

Now that it was revealed that he was my my nephew and the apprentice of kayden, it was like he had a big target sign stuck on his head and back

"yep, i haven't seen hin since he went to get some cat snacks. I haven't heard from hin either" kayden calmly informed jiyoung as i bit on the side of my thumb, brain storming on what could've happened

"jiyoung.. I heard that some high level criminals had entered here.. I think its related to that" i glanced up at jiyoung, though my expression my mutual my eyes were full of worry and anxiety

Jiyoung fell silent before inhyuk entered the room inna hurry, "the other kids haven't heard from him either, they couldn't reach him from morning"

My eyes widened at his word as the room fell silent

Kayden got up from the couch, "I'll get going now"

Before he could leave, jiyoung handed him a phone so they coukd give him updates

He nodded at jiyounf befire he turned to me, "hey.. Get up... Let's go find your nephew" he said before starting to walk again

I got up from the couch and followed him, nodding at jiyoung and inhyuk before leaving

I followed kayden as we flew at the sky, kayden was better at finding traces of something specific then i was

My abilities could only focus on large scale objects, but kayden's electricity was easily able to detect even the smallest traces left

"this is the skill of a assassin to cover up tracks" kayden informed me as i stood behind him

"they were left for us to find" i gritted my teeths before closing my eyes, a drop of blood dripped before slowly multiplying and turning into a red mist

It quickly spread wide as i kept my eyes closed, the mist helped detect in large scale and traveled way faster than they seemed

Kayden glanced back at me patiently waiting before my eyes snapped open

"gravitational attribute, someone created a isolation, we have to go fast" i quickly started going towards where i felt the energy as kayden followed me

Just as we were right near the place kayden stopped me

I turned back and glared at him "if you're gonna tell me to stay put let me te-" before i could say anything he interrupted me

"jiwoo will need healing, you cant waste your powers here" with just these words, he left to the place while i stood there gritting my teeths

I knew he was correct, i knew he could handle them, but that was my nephew who was hurt

I followed after him to atleast take a look at jiwoo

I glanced to the side and saw suman who had jiwoo in one hand and was creating a shield with the other, struggling

With a snap of my finger, a reddish shield guarded them from all sides as i went to stand near Suman

"you can give him to me now" i took jiwoo from him as he hesitantly handed him to me

I dispersed the shield as soon as i sensed kayden was done, not taking my eyes off of jiwoo, my expression full of worry

"this is the last and only time im letting you off the hook" with one last warning, kayden slowly walked towards where me and suman were standing before turning to me

"you can give him to me now y/n"
"its alr-"
"y/n"

With a 'tch' i gave jiwoo to kayden, he turned his back towards me and suman befire looking over his shoulder

"i owe you one
" d-dont mention it"
"ill return the favour some time" with that kayden dissappeared

I turned towards suman before giving him a slight bow "thank you"

"just like kayden, i owe you, please in the nesr future dint hesitate to ask for my help" with these words, i dissappeared aswell

Leaving suman to stand there, stuck to his place

'supil.... What were you think messing with those two!?'

I stayed outside the room as the doctor treated jiwoo, i couldn't get myself to enter no matter what i did

So all i could do was cowardly wait outside so i can hear what happened from someone else, maybe they'll even sugar coat it for me

It was of no use, i could tell some horrible damage was done the moment i held him, but still i clung onto the hope that jiwoo would live a normal life after this

Kayden came out of the room and our eyes met

"hey.. What'd the doctor say?" i clenched my teeths together, trying my best to look him in the face

"he won't be able to use his awakened powers anymore and after healing he will still have difficulties with his hand" kayden's words held no softness, no sugar coating, but straight whatever was true

With my back against the wall, i sat on the floor trying to regulate my breathing as my hands shook

"why are you surprised y/n? You have been in the awakened world and next to me long enough to know the reality, this was bound to happen" he kneeled next to me, trying to look at my face as i supported ny forehead on my knees

"I knew what it was like kayden, not him, he was not supposed to go through this" my voice became weaker with each words as i felt my heaet hammering in my chest, "its all my f-fault" i tried my best to keep my voice steady and my hands proper

"go to jiwoo, he needs someone next to him right now" i said to him without raising my head as i yeard him get up and walk away without any complaint, well he knew when to stop asking after all
