They say to chase the dawn,
And leave the past behind,
To let the darkness fade,
And find some peace of mind.
I wander through the light,
With skies so soft and clear,
And hope the stars above
Will guide me back to here.
You know, my dear, I tried—
Those stars were never mine;
I followed every spark,
Ignoring every sign.
Now colors fill my view,
In shades of warm and bright,
And every path I take
Feels open to the light.
The chains of yesteryears,
Once heavy on my soul,
Have melted in the sun,
And left me feeling whole.
No longer do I cling
To dreams that led astray,
The present calls my name,
And guides me on my way.
