"You had me at brownies."

I laugh and walk into his apartment. I took a second to look around his place, it was surprisingly cozy. Walking in and to the left is the kitchen and on the right is a little dining table; However it looks to have been turned into a dumping ground for random stuff. Straight ahead was the living room with a sunken-in brown couch and a TV across from it. Just past the dining table was a small square hallway that had three doors in each direction.

"You have a really nice place." It was decorated tastefully with cluttered wall art and a few rugs. It was lit from numerous lamps giving it a comforting and homey vibe.

"Thanks, sorry it's a little messy. I didn't have time to clean." He starts rubbing the back of his neck again. I place the brownie tray on the counter.

"No it's okay it makes it feel lived in. I would've been over earlier I just really wanted to make you these brownies." I look back at him standing by the door and decide to take off my shoes.

"Sorry, hope it's not weird if I take my shoes off. It's a respect thing that I'm used to." He shakes his head in response and proceeds to do the same. "I'm really excited for you to try this food. So, one of my favourite food spots here is Homestate and they have really good tacos. I got a few different kinds for you to try." While explaining, he grabs the bags from the table and walks into the living room and sits on the couch, I follow.

On the coffee table he had placed two plates and two cans of kickstart. He takes the tacos out and puts them onto our plates. "Do you want to watch something?"

"Sure, put on your favourite. I'm not well versed in movies so I'm sure what you pick will be good." He leans over and grabs a remote and turns the TV on. "I'm gonna put on Jurassic Park, it is cinematicley one of the best movie." I nod and try to get comfortable before digging in. "I've heard of it but I've never seen it. I wasn't a huge fan of the new ones so I never got around to watching the originals."

"Oh you're missing out. The new ones are just bad, they ruin the original story and the concept just isn't good." He  presses play and we start eating.

"Oh my god, these are so good. Tacos are my guilty please."

----------------------------

We finished eating our food, so Spencer cleaned up the plates as I continued watching. By the time he got back I was fully hogging the couch, legs up behind me, under a blanket. He laughed when he saw how I was sitting.

"What's so funny?" He sat down beside me, grabbing the edge of the blanket so we could share.

"Nothing you just look all cute and cozy so I want to join." I blush profusely at his comment and release the blanket. He leans into the couch and put his arm around the back of it, behind my head. The movie was getting close to the end so I sat up a bit. "Do you want some of the brownie now?" I stand to walk to the kitchen and he follows.

"I thought you'd never ask." He grabs two small plates from a cupboard and hands me a knife. I cut us each a piece.

"Do you want to know the best way to eat a brownie? Put it in the microwave for 10 seconds." I move behind him and put one in. We swap plates and I do the other one. We sit back down and we watch the last of the movie.

"Holy Fuck these are so good." I look over to him and he had chocolate all around his mouth. I laugh and take small bites of mine while I watch him finish the brownie. He licks his lips but is clearly missing some. "Is there something on my face?" I laugh again and move to wipe some chocolate from the side of his mouth. He just watches me as I do it. I can feel him holding his breath at how close I am. I lean back and smile nervously at him.

"Got it. So.." I take a long pause, "You mentioned you wanted to play some games?" He blinks himself back to reality. "Uh yea I was thinking we could play some fortnite." He changes his remote to a controller and starts his system. "Oh no, this will be embarrassing. I kind of play it on occasion and I'm not great by any means but I get very competitive."

"Oh this will be hilarious then."

-------------------------------------------

We continued going back and forth between games. Since we were playing on his account, I hardly lasted long in  any round because he is a higher level then I am. He laughed whenever I died. "Okay that's not fair, I had three epic guns! I could've won this round!" I was standing at this point, complaining about my 'unfair' lose and Spencer just sat there and admired me while complaining.

I looked over at the time and saw it was almost midnight. "Oh its kinda late I should probably leave." I go to leave but Spencer stops me. "Well I'm not tired and it's Friday. If you're tired, you can go, but if not you could stay. I could put on another movie, you can pick this time." He was holding my wrist to stop me from leaving. "You know what, you're right. And I am definitely picking the movie."

I sat back down and grabbed the remote to change the TV from the game. I put on 'Labyrinth' starring David Bowie. "This is one of my favourite movie, I grew up on it." I curled back into the couch as the movie started. He laid back as he was before. I decided to be bold and leaned into him slightly, I could hear his heartbeat pick up.

As the movie continued, including me quoting lines every now and then, and Spencer laughing at me doing so. I hadn't realized how tired I actually was until I started leaning into Spencer more. I was starting to fall asleep. He had rested his arm around me pulling me in closer. The warmth from him, combined with the dim lighting of the room, it was no surprise when  inevitably fell asleep.

*Spencer's POV*

I looked down at her when I heard soft snoring. She had fallen asleep.

Well, I don't want to disturb her. I went to sit up and she leaned into me more, pushing me back into the arm of the couch. She crawled up a little bit to readjust herself and rest her head on my chest. I could feel my heartbeat in my ear I was so nervous.

I reached back and grabbed a few more blankets from the floor and tried to throw them over her. I grabbed the remote and lowered the volume a bit. Luckily for me, I use Phillips light bulbs so I turned them off with my phone.

I continued watching the movie until I too, fell asleep.

Author's note:

Bit of a shorter chapter, just trying to come up with some more ideas for them subtly being cute and flirty. I don't want them to date yet, I have a few ideas of how to make their connection more obvious to the office, just have to find a way to get there.

If you have any ideas, please feel free to comment and maybe I'll use one. If I do, you will be credited obviously.

xoxo
