Today is a big day for me. I've finally decided that I want a fresh start. I'm tired of living in the same boring old town and I want to do what everyone does and move to the big city of Los Angeles.

"Mom I'll be fine. If I need anything you're only a call away." I hug my mom one last time after loading up the last bag into my car. She had been crying for the last hour and trying to convince me not to go. It does break my heart to leave my family but I know this is something that I need to do for myself.

"I know, I just feel like you're finally all grown up. I'll miss you." She held my face in her hands and kissed my cheek.

I climbed into my car and rolled the window down. "I will call you everyday until you start to feel better about me being gone. I'll come back to visit as much as I can and if I don't get a job in my first week, I'll come home."

She slowly nodded her head and smiled slightly. "You're a smart girl I know you will find something. You always do. My bright little girl."

She started to tear up again and my dad hugged her from the side. "I love you mom. I'll call you as soon as I get there okay?"

She nodded her head and finally let me go. As I pulled out of the driveway I waved them goodbye and headed down the street.

I put my Spotify music on shuffle and drove until it was dark. I pulled off to the next motel I saw and crashed there for the night.

I started browsing online for job opportunities in and around LA to get a head start on the job hunt. I will literally take anything to help get myself started. I ended up applying at a few food service places and a couple tech shops.

I did some online courses on video and photo editing so I could probably get by to work at a Best Buy or something.

It was getting pretty late and I was tired so I just went to the vending machine and grabbed some chips and a coke as my "girl dinner." After I finished I locked my door and went to sleep for another long day of driving and then apartment hunting.

The next morning after I woke up and paid my bill, I whipped through a drive thru for a coffee and a muffin and headed on the road again.

Last night I had just crossed the border into California so I only had a few more hours to get to Los Angeles.

I was buzzing with excitement and anticipation of starting new. I had been struggling with my life back home. Just bored of the same old thing and thought my best bet is to start fresh somewhere else.

I was daydreaming while driving the last few hours and before I knew it I was taking a turn off of the freeway and down a few streets to the first apartment.

After seeing a few places I had decided on one and called the company to get the keys. Everything felt like it was falling into place. I found a cheap motel close to the apartment I was going to be renting. I was getting the keys tomorrow so I needed a place to crash for the night.

It was still about mid-day when I checked in so I unloaded some of my stuff in the room and pulled my MacBook out. I went back online and applied at a few more places and browsed a few more websites until I got an email.

It was a little coffee shop not too far from me and they wanted to do an interview today at 3. I had two hours until then so I called the shop to confirm the time. I took the time to shower and get some fresh clothes on and headed to the cafe.

It was the cutest little coffee shop. They sold pastries and sandwiches as well as coffee and tea. The interview went well and they hired me on the spot. They were only hiring for a part time working to cover sick calls and staff for vacation but I didn't mind. I would be starting in a few days but I was welcome to come by to try some of the drinks and food they serve.

I grabbed a London Fog and a cinnamon bun on my way out. As I was walking out of the shop I bumped into someone.

"Oh I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going"  I was holding onto there elbow in order to keep them from falling over. He looked up at me and our eyes locked. He was really handsome. I could feel my cheeks heating up.

I released his arm and took a step back.

"Uh.. no I'm sorry. Are you okay?" He just kept looking into my eyes, like he was looking into my soul.

"Yea I'm okay.. you should try a cinnamon bun, I've been told they're really good." I gesture to the register to break the eye contact.

He does a little side smile and nods. "Yea I'll try it." He hold the top of the door open for me to move under. I smile and walk under his arm and take a second to look back at him and smile.

I quickly walked back to my car and sat in the drivers seat. "Damn I should've gotten his number or name or something" I shook my head and headed back to the hotel.

Today has been such a wild ride and everything seems to be falling into place. As soon as I got back to the hotel I called my mom and told her everything. I could tell she was happy for me but sad because she misses me.

We talked for about an hour before I got ready for bed and headed to sleep.
