"CHAPTER 1 : The Broken Pledge"

DISTRICT NINE IS ONE of the Districts of Panem ruled over by the Capitol. It is responsible for grain production. District 9 has many grains everywhere, most likely for grain processing. This District is very quiet and isn't heard of often. It is an outlying district. The place was full of abundant yellow.
staring at the grainfield in front of her, she hummed slightly. The birds were chirping harmonically, the bright sun was touching her skin, she held onto the pair of knives she was holding tightly. "Ann!" She heard a call, it was her brother, Archer.
His hair was flowing along with the grains on the ground. The wind was slightly windy, creating great air for today's day.
She turned to look at her brother who was waving at her, giving a gesture that screamed come on! District 9 was full of grainfields, left and right it was all a field of yellow. She sighed softly clutching her pair of knives and looking away from the sparkly scenery of the sky. She ran towards him, climbing off the small gate by their backyard.
"Took you long enough" He had that lopsided smile, "For a moment I thought you changed your mind now?" He tilted his head as Annaliese sighed, "of course not?" she gave the knives to her brother.
They both went over the small fence and proceeded into the deep woods, it was all full of moss, little birds chirping, and sounds of small creatures. You can hear how peaceful it was in that forest.
"Alright now try" Her brother gave her one of the knives, she held it gently for a moment, closing her eyes and heard a small rustle. She took a deep breath, then threw it to where she heard the sound. A small shriek was heard and a thud.
She opened her eyes to see she was able to catch a small rabbit. Her brother smiled "Not bad", he walked towards the rabbit that was stabbed, looking at it for a brief moment before he shrugged himself.
He quickly removed the knife that was pierced into it. Giving the rabbit to Annaliese. "I'd say that's a 9.5" Her eyes shone bright, "Only a 9.5?" She smiled softly with one of her eyebrows down, "Well it's a 9.5 because only I get to score a 10"He had a grin, which made Annaliese roll her eyes as she chuckled softly
"Just watch and learn" Her brother turned, spinning the knife like it was nothing. He then threw it without hesitation somewhere else. "Arch. You just wasted one of our knives" Annaliese looked at Archer confused at where he was potentially hitting. "Hey, I did not waste one of our knives! And even if I did we can buy new ones" He shrugged
Walking towards where he shot the knife. Annaliese was behind him, then saw that he was able to catch a rabbit as well. His eyes looked dull for a moment, "Arch?" Annaliese called out his name and he snapped back to reality. "Oh- Uhm. Right, sorry" He crouched down to grab the rabbit and the knife
