Annaliese Yiege ━ Reaping Day

I STARED DOWN AT my trembling hands. I couldn't believe it myself. I was in the Hunger Games. I am a tribute. I was about to die. I have entered a place that I myself coincidentally didn't expect to step foot on. I held my hands tightly as they both clasped together. My lips were quivering, trying to keep myself from tears running down.

I heard a few footsteps but I couldn't move to react on who it could possibly be. The door opened with a large bang that caused me to flinch. I looked up to see who the person was, the person who was visiting me. I saw my father. He had bloodshot eyes, looked like he had a tearful.

"Oh Annaliese.."

He called out. Before I could move he hugged me tightly, pressing me against his chest as I trembled. Fully terrified. He was holding me like he wasn't going to let go, "I love you Ann. I love you Ann. So much so." He continued to say as he stroked my hair. We both cried a buckload of tears.

"You need to survive. Find a way to survive alright?" He removed me from his arms as he pressed his thumb to my cheeks "Do anything to survive Annaliese. I want to see you once you go home okay?" He continued, he seemed to look like he was making sure it didn't affect him at all.

"I-.. I don't have any token in me unfortunately to showcase that I will always be by your side.." He started to ramble around his pockets. Trying to scavenge his empty pockets, in such a situation like this, I couldn't help but let a small laugh as he looked doltish.

I stopped him from doing so as I sniffed, my face was purely full of tears and full of red spots on my nose and cheeks. "Pa.. its okay." I was able to let out, holding his hand. "I'll survive." I continued with a brief determined voice yet it sounded to weak. I didn't seem to believe myself. I didn't know if I should either try or just accept my fate right then and there.

"Ann." He hesitated, staring at me with gentle eyes, "Survive, please.. I can't lose you as well.." He gripped his hands at mine as he tried to showcase he believed in me. The daughter and the father stared at each other for a moment before doing another hug,  "Be strong. Turn the pain into power." Her father whispered to her ears

before she could react, the door burst open again and a peacekeeper came by "PA!" She yelled as she tried to grab his hand but he let go as the peacekeepers escorted him out roughly "I'M ALWAYS HERE ANN!! I L-" he shouted with tears in his eyes, formerly the door closed shut. She was left there speechless. She broke down to the floor tears falling down her cheeks.

How could she possibly survive? She wanted to survive. She needed to. She had to go home. Though it'll just pain her if she continues to try and do so.

She's entered death. There's nothing to look back on. Her knees were on the floor, as she covered her mouth with her sobs, making sure not to be loud. After a couple of seconds, the doors opened to see her brother there. Standing, looking at the mess of tears on her face. The door closed as he knelt down and rushed to hug her. The entire time they were crying. Her eyes were painful from the tears flowing through her face.
