Chapter 17: The Battle for Bikini Bottom

The sound of their frantic footsteps echoed down the darkened halls of the lab as the group sprinted toward the exit, the weight of the antidote heavy in Sandy’s hands. Behind them, the relentless horde of zombies was closing in fast, their groaning and shuffling growing louder with every passing second.

Sandy: "We can't stop now! We’ve come too far!"

SpongeBob, exhausted but determined, glanced back over his shoulder, his heart racing. The lab was shaking under the impact of the zombies battering the walls.

SpongeBob: "How are we gonna make it out of here? There’s too many of them!"

Squidward, who had been silent up until that point, let out a weary grunt, clearly fed up with the constant battles.

Squidward: "Oh, so now you’re just realizing that? You think I didn’t notice the horde we just unleashed?"

Sandy: "Focus! We're almost there."

The exit was in sight, but the hallway ahead was filled with debris, making it difficult to move quickly. Zombies were crawling through the wreckage, reaching out for them, their jaws snapping. A couple of them lunged at SpongeBob, but he managed to dodge them, kicking one aside with a surprising burst of strength.

Squidward: "Get moving, you two! Don’t just stand there and admire your kicks!"

They barreled through the makeshift barricade, finally reaching the main doors. But before they could escape, a loud crash sounded from behind them. The ceiling above started to crumble, a new wave of zombies pouring in through the holes. The doors were barely holding up, but the group had no choice but to push through.

Sandy: "On three! One, two, THREE!"

With a unified push, they broke through the remaining debris, spilling out into the street. The air outside was thick with the stench of decay, and the once-familiar streets of Bikini Bottom were now littered with dead bodies and the remains of their former lives. But there was no time to stop. The battle was far from over.

SpongeBob: "We’ve got to get to the surface—get the antidote to the surface, to my family—"

Sandy: "Right. And we need to stop this infection from spreading. The city’s already gone to hell."

As they began to run, the group was faced with a horrifying sight. A massive group of zombies, their mangled bodies barely held together, was making its way toward them. They were trapped.

Squidward: "Great, just great. We can’t even make it out of here without being surrounded."

Sandy’s eyes narrowed. She wasn’t about to let them go down without a fight.

Sandy: "Form up! We’re not going down that easily."

The group spread out, positioning themselves to defend the antidote. Sandy quickly activated a gadget on her wrist, and a shield of metal encased them. It wasn’t much, but it would slow the zombies down.

Sandy: "Get ready!"

The zombies came closer, their eyes glowing with hunger. Squidward, while still disgruntled, picked up a nearby broken pipe and stood ready to defend himself. SpongeBob, with determination burning in his eyes, held a large spatula.

SpongeBob: "Come on, guys! We’ve been through worse, we can do this!"

Sandy, now braced in a defensive stance, glared at the advancing horde.

Sandy: "I’ll hold them off! You two, get to the surface and find a way to stop them!"

But before they could make a move, the first wave of zombies reached them, their hands reaching out for their prey. The group fought valiantly, each swing, each strike, a desperate attempt to hold them off.

Squidward: "This... is... impossible!"

But just as the zombies closed in, something unexpected happened. From behind, the unmistakable sound of a powerful engine roared to life. A giant mech suit, piloted by none other than Plankton, burst through the wreckage of a nearby building. The mech suit was an intimidating sight—larger and more powerful than anything they had seen before.

Plankton (in his mech): "You didn't think I'd let you all get the glory, did you?"

Sandy’s eyes widened. Plankton, in his new suit, was a force to be reckoned with. The group quickly regrouped as he began to mow down zombies with laser blasts and powerful strikes from his mech’s massive fists.

Plankton (smirking): "You think I’d let my own creation destroy me? Not a chance."

The mech suit’s lasers cut through the horde, creating a path for the group to advance. Sandy, SpongeBob, and Squidward didn’t hesitate. They ran ahead, not looking back as they followed the path cleared by Plankton’s mech.

Sandy: "We need to make it to the surface! We need to stop this before it gets worse!"

Plankton (shouting after them): "Don’t worry about me! I’ve got this covered!"

The group ran faster, knowing that the only way to end this nightmare was to get to the surface and release the antidote. They were getting close, but the closer they got to their goal, the more they realized just how much they had to sacrifice to get there.

As they moved, the city grew more chaotic. The streets were filled with smoke, debris, and blood. Infected creatures, once familiar to them, now roamed freely, hunting anyone they could find. But through it all, Sandy, SpongeBob, Squidward, and Plankton kept moving forward, pushing toward the only thing that mattered now—the antidote.

Sandy: "We’re almost there. Just a little further."

But even as they approached their goal, one final question lingered in the air: Would it be enough to save Bikini Bottom?
