Sailub's office buzzed with quiet efficiency. The soft hum of computers, the rustling of papers, and the muffled sounds of distant conversations filled the air.
The large windows overlooked the city skyline, where the sun cast a golden hue over the buildings.
Pon sat comfortably on the plush leather couch, flipping through a glossy magazine. Every few minutes, he would glance up at Sailub, who was engrossed in his work.
Pon sighed softly, feeling a mix of admiration and boredom.
Watching Sailub work was a strange kind of comfort, but he couldn't sit still for long. He stood up, stretching his arms over his head.
"Sai.. I'm bored.." Pon suddenly broke the silence, Sailub looked up at Pon who kept looking around the office swinging his little legs around.
Sailub chuckled and smiled as he looked at Pon, "Bored? I guess, hm.. what do you want to do?" Sailub asked.
"I'm going to explore a bit, can I?" Pon announced, trying to sound casual.
Sailub looked up from his laptop, concern flickering in his eyes. "Are you sure? Don't get lost..?"
Pon grinned. "I'll be fine Sai! Just going to check out the break room or something."
Sailub hesitated but eventually nodded. "Alright. If you need anything, Pavel is just outside. Stay close."
"I will, thank you khub!" Pon promised, already heading toward the door.
Pon wandered through the sleek hallways, admiring the modern design of the office. Everything was immaculate glass walls, polished floors, and tasteful artwork adorning the walls.
He peeked into a few conference rooms, each equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
The break room was spacious, with a coffee machine that looked more complicated than it needed to be.
Pon chuckled, imagining Sailub struggling with it. He grabbed a bottled water from the fridge and continued his exploration.
As he rounded a corner, he overheard voices. Curious, Pon slowed his pace, not intending to eavesdrop but unable to ignore the conversation.
"Did you see him last time? Bringing lunch for Mr. Sailub?" one woman scoffed, her voice dripping with disdain.
"Yeah. Can you believe someone like him is with the boss? It doesn't make sense," another chimed in, her tone equally bitter.
Pon's heart sank. He tried to walk away quietly, but his footsteps echoed in the silent hallway. The women noticed him immediately.
"Oh, look who it is," one of them sneered, stepping forward. "Lost, sweetheart?"
Pon froze, clutching the water bottle tighter. "I-I'm just looking around."
"Well, maybe you should stick to the break room," another woman added, her eyes narrowing. "This is no place for someone like you."
Pon felt a knot form in his stomach. He wanted to say something, but his voice felt trapped.
"You think you can just walk in here like you own the place?" the first woman continued. "Just because you're close to Mr. Sailub doesn't mean you belong."
Pon's cheeks flushed, and he took a step back, feeling overwhelmed.
Pon was so scared, he felt weak since the girls who kept making comments about Pon was fierce and Alpha's made Pon look weak because he was an omega.
Pon was soft-hearted and couldn't take any harsh comments, he was on the verge of crying, he froze, he couldn't say anything or do anything.. when suddenly.
"What's going on here?" Sailub's voice was sharp and cold, cutting through the tension.
The women turned, their faces draining of color. Sailub stood at the end of the hallway, his eyes dark with anger. He strode forward, his presence commanding.
"S-Sir, we were just-"
"Silence," Sailub ordered, his gaze never leaving Pon. He reached out, gently pulling Pon to his side. "Are you okay?"
Pon nodded, though his eyes were glossy.
Sailub turned back to the women, his expression hardening. "You think it's acceptable to treat anyone like that, especially in my company?"
"We didn't know-"
"You didn't know he's my husband?" Sailub cut in, his voice dangerously low. "Does that make it any better?"
The women's eyes widened in shock.
"Husband?" one of them whispered, clearly stunned.
"Yes. Thanapon is my husband. And he deserves your respect," Sailub stated firmly. "Pack your things. You're fired."
"But-"
"No excuses," Sailub said coldly. "Pavel will escort you out."
Pavel appeared, having heard the commotion. He gestured for the women to follow him. They left in stunned silence, their heads bowed.
Sailub guided Pon back to his office, closing the door behind them. He made Pon sit on the couch and knelt in front of him, his hands gently holding Pon's.
"I'm sorry," Sailub whispered, his voice soft. "You shouldn't have to deal with that."
"It's not your fault, my love.." Pon replied, his voice trembling. "I just... didn't expect it."
Sailub cupped Pon's face, his thumb brushing away a tear. "You're safe here. I promise."
Pon leaned into the touch, finding comfort in Sailub's warmth. "Thank you."
"I'll always protect you," Sailub vowed.
Pon nodded, his heart feeling lighter and he felt more secured and safe around Sailub.
Later that afternoon, Sailub called an emergency meeting with all department managers.
The conference room buzzed with speculation as the managers gathered.
Sailub entered, his presence commanding attention. Pon walked in behind him, sitting quietly at the head of the table.
"Thank you all for coming," Sailub began. "I have an important announcement."
The room fell silent.
"As you may know, there have been rumors and speculations recently. I want to clear the air. Thanapon is my husband. He is to be treated with the utmost respect, just as you would treat me."
Murmurs spread through the room, but no one dared to interrupt.
"Any behavior contrary to this will not be tolerated," Sailub continued. "This company thrives on professionalism and respect. Let this serve as a reminder."
He paused, letting his words sink in. "That's all. You're dismissed."
The managers left, their faces a mix of surprise and respect.
Back in his office, Sailub pulled Pon into a warm embrace.
"You didn't have to do all that," Pon murmured, his cheeks flushed.
"I did," Sailub said softly. "Because I love you. And I'll always protect you."
Pon smiled, resting his head on Sailub's shoulder. "I love you too."
As the sun set, casting a golden glow over the city, they sat together, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead together.
