The end of the year was just around the corner. Exams are kicking my butt and I feel exhaustingly overwhelmed. Me and Maya have been weird ever since the night or should I say I've been weird? I know she likes me, but I push her away every time she gets close. She knows how I feel. I shouldn't still feel. It's been months since that night and I still feel the tears well in my eyes when I think about her. I wouldn't take it back, our breakup, I mean. She hurt me, but I can't help but wonder if I moved away too quickly. Maybe I was too selfish. We never unfollowed each other, and I didn't delete her from my online presence, I couldn't bring myself to do it but I can't figure out why she hasn't. Cameron is like my ears on the inside but she won't tell me the specifics of how she is doing. That is probably for the best.

Now here I am pencil eraser in mouth as I think about her in the middle of a lecture. I don't know how long I wasn't present and from the looks of the professor, it may not have been that long. Let us hope.

The second the clock hit three, my leg bounced against the floor with anticipation. I need to get out of this class. Basketball season was long over meaning that there is a 50/50 chance Cam will be home when I get back. I love that girl with every fiber in my body but I'm still getting used to the idea of her hanging out with my ex. They were friends before of course, but it's so weird how much she wanted it and when it ended to take both sides. The only person who has fully taken my side is Maya and I know it's not just because she's my friend. It has to be something more.

Finally being dismissed I grab my things and almost run to the car. Inside I drop my bad to the side and rest my head on the steering wheel. The knock on my window makes me shoot up. Nika. "Hey, girl" "Hi Nika." "You okay?" "Yeah, I'm good, just so exhausted from my class. How are you?" "I'm good. Hey, you should come over tonight, we are hanging out with the incoming freshman and also trying to have a good get-together before summer starts." I think for a moment. "I'm not sure." "Come on please!!" She leans on my door pleading. How could I say no to her? "Okay, fine." "Great! see you then!" She left my car and I sit with myself again. What did I just agree to?

Cam sees me as I hesitate to knock on their door. I'm afraid of who would open it. So she moves in front of me knocking on the door instead. I let out a sigh I didn't realize I was holding in when it was Ayanna who opened the door. Inside the room was filled with a little bit of everyone in random places. I split away from Cam and walked over to Nika sitting on the couch. "You're here!" She says getting up and hugging me then turning back to the couch. "This is Jana and Ashlynn." She points to the dark-haired and curled-haired women sitting down. "Kamorea is around here somewhere." Nika continues as I shake hands with the two new girls. I introduce myself and then follow Nika's eyes. She grabs my hand pulling me around the table over to the other group of girls. "Kamorea, this is Evelina. Evelina, Kamorea." "Girl boo, you know you can just call me KK." We all laugh and I shake her hand. Next to her Is Paige and when I catch a glimpse I notice there is light in her eyes. The light that wasn't there when I last saw her. I'm glad she's doing okay.
