As much as they dreaded the day to come they were back in Connecticut. The last day in Italy was spent on long walks, ice cream, and holding hands. They both wished their relationship could be like this forever,  colorful and warm like Italy and not the busy and cold winter of Storrs.

"Welcome home!!" Cameron announces as Evelina hauls her bag through the heavy apartment door. The brunette puts no effort into helping Eve but instead wraps her arms around her. "I missed you! How was Italy!? How was Paige?? How are the grandparents?? Oh my god did something happen between you and Paige?!" "Too...many...questions." Between Cam's arms and the bag, she feels like she is suffocating in a constant struggle. "Okay okay, I'm sorry." Cam backs up still not helping with the bag but making way so Eve can continue to haul into her room. When she reaches her room she collapses on the floor next to her suitcase. "As much as I loved that trip, I could sleep for 5 days straight." Cam gets on the floor right next to her. "You can sleep later. First, you have to tell me everything." She was dreading this moment. "I'll tell you later." "Oh my god. My plan worked!" Eve sits up straight. "What plan?" Cam curses to herself. "Did I say plan... I meant..." She couldn't think of any word that rhymed with plan. "Cam. What plan." Cam groans rolling over on her back. "Okay, don't get mad at me but I may or may not have pretended to be sick so you wouldn't have any choice but to go to Italy with Paige. Making it so you guys got closer and you know, confess." "Are you fucking serious?" "Maybe." Her voice went higher. "Cameron!" "Did it work!?" Evelina grew silent. She hated that this 'plan' worked but she didn't want to lie. Cam gasps. "I did it, didn't I? You guys are dating!?" "I didn't exactly say that, just don't tell anyone, okay?" "Mission Pevelina was a success!" "Pevelina?" " your guy's ship name." "I know. Just why that?" "I think it's cute." Eve rolls her eyes at Cam's last comment getting up to lock herself in the bathroom.

Two days had gone by since Paige and Evelina separated after their trip. "There is practice today. Wanna come?" Eve looks up from her phone. responding to Cam whose head peaks in her room. "Sure, just give me a second to get ready." She responds quickly and pulls herself out of bed eager to reconnect with the team but mostly Paige. They hadn't talked about where their relationship stood and it's been bugging her. Does Paige want to label it? So many ifs and buts consume her thoughts about that girl.

The car ride there was filled with lots of out-of-tune singing from Cam, as usual. Eve gets out of the car first going up to the doors of Gampel. "Those are locked, we gotta go through the back." Cam's announcement moves Eve away from the doors. As they walk through the back door Evelina's anxiety heightens and she knows exactly why. She and Paige haven't talked, or seen each other since their departure at the airport.

"Hey Cam! Oh hey, Evelina, didn't think I would see you here today, how was Italy?"  Aubrey says as the two walk into the girl's locker room. "It was so amazing, I'm sure Paige has already told you everything, so I won't bore you." "You know what? she didn't say much, I was kinda waiting for you to go into detail, I think we all are." Aubrey looks around at some of the girls in the room. The thought of the trip in detail makes Evelina flustered. "Yeah yeah, I will, just give me one second." She excuses herself from the small group rounding the corner to find Ice and Paige filming a TikTok. Eve giggles to herself squeezing behind them into a stall. "Paige, why did you sto- oh hey Evelina, didn't think you were coming today," Ice says picking up her phone to reset the TikTok. Eve gives a small wave avoiding Paige's eyes. As she sits in the stall the sound of the TikTok stops followed by the sound of footsteps leaving. She sighs leaving the stall and as she does she is faced with that blonde-haired girl. "hey..." her voice is low almost as if she too is confused about why she stayed. "Hi." she gives Paige a quick smile going to the sink, "How have you been.." "good, pretty good. you?" The blonde leans on the counter next to Eve. "Good, just catching up on things since the trip." "Yeah, same. Uh anyways, I was thinking about..." she clears her throat, "About us..." Eve dries off her hands turning towards Paige, "Yeah, uhm how about over dinner? when are you free?" Eve could tell that Paige was shocked by her quick response and she was shocked too. "I don't have practice on Wednesday, then?" "Wednesday is perfect." "cool, cool."

The rest of practice was filled with secret glances from the two, hoping no one would catch on.

Before they knew it, Wednesday arrived, and after long classes, Evelina was ready to end the day in her bed, watching whatever Netflix has to offer. "Home" she announced walking through the front door. "Hey!" Cam pops out of her room. "So what are you wearing tonight?" She completely forgot about her dinner plans. "Shit I hadn't thought about it." She drops her bag to the side and rushes into her room. She goes to her closet throwing random pieces of clothing onto her bed. "You need to wear this." Cam is now behind Eve with an outfit in her hands. "Are you sure?" "Am I sure? Yes, I'm sure."

The restaurant was quite packed for a Wednesday night which honestly put Evelina at ease. She didn't want the restaurant to be completely silent when they talked. "Hey." "Hi." Paige gets up pulling Evelina into embrace. "How are you?" The blonde asks as they both sit down. "Good, you?" "Good." If they were both being honest they wanted to delay the inevitable conversation for as long as possible. The silence grew and Evelina couldn't handle it anymore. She clears her throat before speaking. "So...we should probably talk about...you know." Paige clears her throat as well, "Yeah, yeah we should." They both hated how awkward this felt. "This is getting awkward so I'm just going to say it," Paige starts wringing her hands in her lap. "I really like you Evelina, and I don't want what we had in Italy to go away. So... will you be my girlfriend?- I don't care if you don't want anyone to kno-" "Yes." Evelina cuts off Paige's rant before it never ends. "Of course, I will be your girlfriend, Paige." She reaches out her hand that Paige takes.
