The sound of a knock at the door shattered the infidelity that had enveloped the room.

Ryujin and her boss instantly pulled away from each other, their breathing uneven.

Ryujin's heart raced as she adjusted her coat, straightening the creases with trembling hands. She wiped her lips with the back of her hand, hoping to erase the evidence of their moment.

"Drink your medicine," Ryujin said, her voice softer than usual, tinged with guilt. "You have a lot of meetings today."

Her boss tilted her head, a smirk tugging at her lips. "I will, Ryujinnie," she replied smoothly, her tone dripping with familiarity that sent a pang of unease through Ryujin.

The door creaked open, and in walked Lia, arms burdened with a stack of papers. She paused briefly when she saw Ryujin, her eyes narrowing as they met Ryujin's.

Lia didn't speak, but the tension in her stare spoke volumes. Her gaze burned with anger, the kind that Ryujin could feel piercing through her.

Ryujin forced a polite bow, trying to mask her unease.

"Lia," she greeted quietly.

But Lia didn't respond. She merely walked past Ryujin, her steps deliberate and sharp, the papers in her hands rustling as she moved toward their boss's desk.

Ryujin felt the weight of Lia's anger settle on her shoulders, but she refused to look back. Instead, she quickly made her way out of the office, shutting the door softly behind her.

Inside the room, Lia placed the stack of papers on the desk, her movements stiff.

She glanced up, her eyes narrowing when she noticed the faint smudge of lipstick on the corner of her boss's lips.

It wasn't her usual pristine look—something was off. Lia's jaw tightened as she fought to keep her composure, her mind already racing with assumptions that made her stomach churn.

"Here are the files for the clients," Lia said curtly, bowing her head slightly to avoid meeting her boss's eyes.

Her voice was controlled, but the edge of tension was unmistakable.

"Thanks, Lia," her boss replied, and added "I'll get back to you after I've signed them all."

Lia gave a small nod before turning to leave the room. The door clicked shut behind her, and the moment she was back in the hallway, she let out a shaky breath.

Her steps quickened as she made her way back to her own office, slamming the door shut once she was inside.

She sank into her chair, her hands trembling as she grabbed her phone.

Opening her contacts, she scrolled until she found Yeji's name. Her thumb hovered over the screen, and without thinking, she typed a message.

Yeji, please, call off the engagement. Ryujin is cheating on you.

The words stared back at her, stark and cold.

Lia's chest tightened as she read the message over and over again. She could already imagine the pain in Yeji's eyes, the devastation that would follow.

It wasn't her place, but it also didn't feel right to stay silent.

Her thumb hovered over the send button, but she hesitated.

After what felt like an eternity, Lia sighed shakily.

Her finger moved slowly, hesitating with every letter she erased, until the screen was blank again.
