Yeji's steps faltered as she walked into the pharmacy.

Her heart was a mess of conflicting emotions—

rage,

pain,

and an overwhelming sense of betrayal.

The soft chime of the doorbell sounded distant, almost too faint to be real.

She could barely focus on the shelves of neatly stacked boxes of medicine in front of her, her mind replaying the painful image that had been burned into her memory.

Ryujin. Her fiancée. With that fucking bitch.

Jeonggeui. Her boss. The actress. The one who pretended to be the perfect boss, while she was breaking Yeji's heart in the most unforgivable way possible.

Yeji could feel the tears threatening to spill again as she made her way toward the counter.

Her legs were weak, like they could give out any second.

She reached for the edge of the counter, gripping it tightly to steady herself.

Her breaths came in short, sharp gasps, the air feeling too thick for her lungs.

"Yuna," Yeji's voice cracked as she called out Ryujin's sister.

Yuna, who had been sorting through a few boxes behind the counter, looked up instantly.

Her eyes softened when she saw the older girl's pained expression.

The worry on her face was immediate.

"Yeji Unnie?" she asked, her voice full of concern.

She quickly moved to the front of the counter, crossing the distance between them. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Yeji could barely meet her gaze. Her emotions were a tangle of fury and hurt, and she could hardly find the words to explain the devastation she was feeling.

"Ryujin..." she managed to say, her throat tightening as she spoke. "She's cheating on me, Yuna. She's been cheating on me this whole time."

Yuna's eyes went wide, disbelief flashing across her face. "What? Ryujin unnie would never—"

"She is!"

Yeji interrupted, her voice rising, too loud for the quiet store.

"I saw it with my own eyes, Yuna. My fucking own eyes!" Her voice cracked again, and she clutched her chest as if the pain was physically suffocating her.

Yuna looked at the older girl, unsure how to respond.

This wasn't something she'd expected with her sister, Ryujin.

Yeji's eyes were red and swollen from crying, and Yuna knew Yeji well enough to see that this wasn't some fleeting moment of anger or jealousy.

This was real.

The pain in Yeji's eyes was raw.

It was real, and it was tearing her apart.

"What do you mean?" Yuna asked, her voice softening with genuine concern. She gently took Yeji's arm and guided her to one of the chairs by the counter, urging her to sit down. "Tell me exactly what happened."

Yeji swallowed hard, fighting back another wave of tears.

"I—" Her voice faltered, then steadied. "I saw Ryujin. Today. Kissing. Intimate. With Jeonggeui."

The name felt like acid in her mouth. Yeji couldn't explain properly.

"Remember the medicine that Ryujin bought? It was not for me. It was for Jeonggeui. She's been lying to me, Yuna."

Yuna frowned, her brows furrowing as she processed the information.

"What? Jeonggeui?" she repeated, her disbelief still evident. "The actress who couldn't act? Are you sure, unnie?"

"Yes," Yeji whispered, her hands trembling.

"I saw it myself. She was so careful, trying to hide it from me, but I saw them today...."

Yuna's face hardened as the realization hit her.

"That bitch," she muttered under her breath. "She's been fucking your fiancée behind your back? And you had no idea?" Yuna's eyes narrowed as she clenched her fists, her anger starting to mirror Yeji's.

Yeji could only nod, her throat closing up again as fresh tears welled up in her eyes.

"I gave her everything, Yuna. Everything. And she... she just betrayed me like that. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't know what to feel. I loved her so much."

Yuna stepped back, taking a deep breath as she tried to contain the surge of anger that was threatening to overwhelm her.

Her fists clenched and unclenched at her sides as she tried to process the words.

She had seen how much Yeji had loved her sister.

She had witnessed the way Yeji always spoke of her sister, with so much pride and devotion.

And to hear this now? It made Yuna want to scream.

She crossed the room to where Yeji sat, her heart breaking for her sister.

"Unnie, I am so sorry for what my sister did to you. I swear to God, I'll make sure she pays for this. I'll—"

"No," Yeji interrupted, shaking her head weakly.

"I don't want revenge. I just..." Yeji's voice broke as she trailed off, her face buried in her hands once more.

Yuna knelt down in front of her sister, her tone soft but firm.

"You will be okay, unnie. But you need to understand something. You deserve so much better than someone who would do this to you. Ryujin, my sister, is not the one for you. You don't need someone who's going to hurt you like this. You need someone who'll appreciate you. Someone who's going to love you the way you deserve to be loved."

Yeji lifted her head slowly, meeting Yuna's gaze. "But I thought... I thought it was going to be her. I thought we were going to grow old together. She was the one, Yuna. She was everything."

Yuna's eyes softened as she placed her hand over Yeji's.

"She's not, unnie. She's not the one. And you don't need her. You have me. You have your friends. You have your own family who loves you. And I'll be here. I'll always be here for you."

The words felt like a balm on the wound that was haunting at Yeji's heart, but the emptiness still lingered.

It was hard to believe she could ever feel whole again after what Ryujin had done to her.

Yuna sighed, standing up as she looked down at her sister.

"You need to get away from my sister, unnie. I don't want you going back to that condo tonight. You need a break. Come stay at my place. Go get your things. We'll get you out of there."

Yeji's heart sank at the thought of going back to the condo. To the place where everything had felt so perfect just years ago, but now was tainted with lies and betrayal.

"I don't know if I can—" Yeji started, but Yuna cut her off.

"You can, unnie,"

Yuna said firmly, her voice leaving no room for argument,

"Don't be stupid, please, Yeji unnie?"

"Pack up your stuff. I'll take you home. You're not staying there another minute."

Yeji nodded, still struggling to come to terms with the reality of the situation.

Her hands shook as she wiped her eyes, but she didn't feel the same numbness anymore.

She felt a burning desire to just run.

To escape from everything that reminded her of Ryujin and the betrayal she had suffered.

"Thank you," Yeji whispered, her voice small, but grateful.

Yuna didn't hesitate for a second. "No need to thank me, unnie."
