Jungkook's steps didn't falter. He walked towards them with the measured, unhurried pace of a predator, his eyes softening when they met Y/N's. "I'm sorry I'm late, princess," he murmured, his voice low, smooth, as if they weren't surrounded by danger.

"And you." He pointed a finger at the man. "You have a death wish, I see." A slow, menacing smirk stretched across his lips. "Let me grant it for you."

The words sent a shiver down Y/N's spine-whether from fear or something else entirely, she wasn't sure. The way he spoke, as if this were nothing more than an inconvenience, unsettled her just as much as it reassured her.

The man holding her tightened his grip, his breathing ragged. "I mean it! One more step, and she dies!" His hand trembled slightly, the tip of the knife pressing harder against her throat.

The man's grip faltered just slightly. Jungkook noticed.

And he was going to make him regret it.

The masked man scoffed, but his grip faltered just a little. "And why the hell not?"

Jungkook's lips curled into something that wasn't quite a smile. "Because if you do," he said, still advancing, "you won't live long enough to regret it."

The threat was subtle, but the weight of it was suffocating. Y/N could feel the shift in the air, thick with something dangerous, something final.

Jungkook's voice was steady, almost gentle as he spoke. "Close your eyes, love."

Y/N barely had time to process his words before instinct took over. She shut her eyes, her breath shallow, heart hammering against her ribs.

And then-
