Mindsets
We are different because of them.
Not gifts from God,
But choices we unknowingly make,
Perceiving the world in fragmented ways. Some mindsets lift us,
Helping us face what hurts.
Others, like chains,
Convince us the pain is deserved,
Leaving us trapped in endless circles.I learned today—
I overthink too much.
My mind spirals,
Drowning me in anxiety and despair.
This mindset, though painful,
Feels like a part of me.
Letting it go would feel like losing myself,
Even though it’s breaking me.I envied a friend today,
So calm, so wise—
He carries a peace I cannot reach.
His ethics, his attitude,
The way he sees the world—
I long to be like him.
But my thoughts, relentless and cruel,
Never let me escape.I argued with my friends today.
Through the heat of words,
A bitter truth emerged:
We are all shaped by our mindsets,
Each one different,
Each one flawed. But they told me it’s not too late.
Happiness isn’t a distant dream—
It’s something I deserve too.
Yet, as much as I wish for change,
The weight of who I am
Feels impossible to leave behind.Maybe tomorrow I’ll try again.
Or maybe I’ll stay the same.
