The previous night, Scott had experienced a painful stomach cramp, but after a brief period, he managed to fall asleep.

The following morning, Jeffery visited Bess, inquiring if she wished to obtain some evidence. They ventured into the wilderness together. Jeffery attempted to kiss Bess, but she rebuffed him. He then remarked that others perceive her as peculiar. Following this encounter, Bess left Jeffery and returned home, where she replaced her photograph with one of Jules. Meanwhile, Jules was in her room when she noticed the phrase "he's mine" inscribed on her window, which left her perplexed. She subsequently called Scott over, who assumed that Jules was responsible for the message. This assumption angered Jules, prompting her to ask Scott to leave. Afterward, Scott stopped for coffee and encountered one of his former teachers. He later provided comfort to Bess before departing.

As night fell, Scott attempted to reconcile with Jules, pleading, "Can you please forgive me for this? You are my best friend

As night fell, Scott attempted to reconcile with Jules, pleading, "Can you please forgive me for this? You are my best friend." Scala added, "And the best mentor and sister." Jules smiled but then closed her blinds. Scott and Scala returned home for the night.

The next morning, it was reported that Miss Brown had died while jogging on the running trail.
