Chapter 4

The following morning, Scott awakens and proceeds to dress himself. Subsequently, he makes his way to Scala's room to rouse her from sleep.

Scott: "Scala, it is time to wake up."

Scala awakens, experiencing feelings of illness.

Scott: "I will go and retrieve the injection; it will alleviate your stomach discomfort."

Scala responds with a nod.

Scott returns with the injection.

Scott: "Are you ready, Scala?"

Scala shakes her head in refusal.

Scott: "I assure you, it will make you feel better."

Scott takes Scala's hand and gently kisses it.

Scott: "Do you trust me?"

Scala nods in affirmation.

Scott: "Just squeeze my hand, alright?"

Scala nods once more.

Scott administers the medication to Scala while she grips his hand tightly.

Scott: "It is completed."

Scala responds with a nod.

Scala again nods in acknowledgment.

Scott advises, "Allow some time for the medication to take effect; it will assist in improving your condition."

Scala nods in agreement.

Scott instructs, "Please go and get dressed while I prepare your lunch."

Scala nods once more.

Scala proceeds to change, while Scott departs to the kitchen to pack her lunch. After dressing, Scala descends the stairs to prepare for school.

Scott remarks, "Here you go, Scala."

Scala expresses her gratitude, saying, "Thank you."

Scott inquires, "Are you feeling alright?"

Scala affirms with a nod.

Scott urges, "Let us hurry; we are at risk of being late."

Scott nods in affirmation.

Together, Scala and Scott leave for school.

During her time at school, Scala awaited the results of her examination.

"Well done, Scala," she observed an 'A' grade on her test.

"Alright, everyone, I encourage you to engage in some reading over the weekend."

"Excellent work, Bess. Now, I urge everyone to read something during the summer as well." Scala proceeded to her locker, retrieved her lunch, and made her way to the cafeteria. Upon finding a place to sit, she began to eat her lunch. Scott entered the lunchroom and noticed Scala engrossed in her meal. After obtaining his lunch, Scott approached Scala's table. Scala then shared her test score with Scott.

Scott remarked, "Well done, Scala."

Scala inquired, "Are you feeling alright?"

Scott replied, "I just have a stomachache."

Scala responded, "Okay."

School ends, Scott and Scala were at home

Late at night, Scott was lying in bed, suffering from a persistent bellyache that had plagued him all day. He had completely lost his appetite and hoped that the growling in his stomach would cease. Each time his belly growled, it caused him pain. Meanwhile, Scala was in her room working on a Lego Friends Mia's Treehouse project. However, she soon grew bored and decided to visit her brother. Upon entering his room, Scala found Scott lying in bed.

Scott greeted her, saying, "Hey scals."

Scala climbed into bed next to her brother and asked, "What's wrong?"

Scott replied, "I have a bad bellyache."

As his belly growled again, Scott winced in pain and said, "Ow."

Seeking comfort, Scala snuggled closer to her brother, bringing a smile to his face. He always enjoyed it when his sister cuddled with him.

Scala then asked, "Are you hungry?"

Scott responded, "No, I have no appetite, scals."

Curious, Scala inquired, "Why?"

Scott simply replied, "I just don't."

Understanding his response, Scala nodded.

Realizing it was getting late, Scott urged, "Come on, it's time for bed."

However, Scala expressed her desire to sleep with him.

Scott agreed, saying, "Okay."

He climbed into bed, and Scala fell into his arms for the night. After a while, Scala drifted off to sleep, but Scott remained awake. It took him some time to finally fall into a deep slumber. Scott hoped that his bellyache would be gone by the next day.
