The following morning, Scott visited the hospital to see his sister, Scala. He brought her a change of clothes.
Scott inquired, "Excuse me, could you please inform me of Scala Norris's room number?"
Destiny responded, "And who might you be?"
Scott replied, "I am her brother."
Julia then interjected, "Scott, you may accompany me."
Dr. Marsh greeted Scott, "Hello, Scott. You are here to sign your sister's release papers, correct?"
Scott confirmed, "Yes, how is she doing?"
Dr. Marsh explained, "She is doing well and showing signs of improvement. Her liver function is enhancing due to the antibiotics we have been administering, which have proven quite effective. Here are her release papers. We have thoroughly enjoyed having Scala here; she is quite delightful."
Scott smiled slightly at this remark.
Dr. Marsh continued, "She was asleep when I last checked, though I cannot confirm her current state."
Scott nodded in acknowledgment.
Julia added, "She is all set to go."
Scott expressed his gratitude, "Thank you for everything."
Julia replied, "No problem; please take care of yourselves."
Scott proceeded to Scala's room.
"Hey," he greeted.
Scala beamed with joy upon seeing her brother and leaned in for a hug.
Scott asked, "Are you ready to go home?"
Scala responded, "Could you carry me?"
Scott nodded in agreement.
He handed Scala a sweatsuit so she could change. Shortly thereafter, Scala fell asleep. Scott then lifted her in a bridal carry, with Scala resting her head against his chest as he transported her home. Upon arriving, Scott gently laid Scala down on the couch before going out for a run. After completing his run, he prepared for his workout at the gym.
Outside, he observed a boy running up and down the stairs. Once Scott finished his workout, he took a shower and subsequently retrieved his clothes from his locker.
After Scott got dressed, he returned home to Scala. He observed a young boy repeatedly ascending and descending the stairs. As Scott exited the parking lot, the boy descended the stairs until someone unexpectedly flipped him over, causing him to land on his back. Upon arriving home, Scott discovered Scala still asleep. He gently felt Scala's forehead and subsequently awaken her.
Scott: "Hello."
Scala responded with a smile.
Scott: "How are you feeling?"
Scala: "Sore."
Scott: "Are you hungry?"
Scala shook his head in negation.
Scott: "Alright."
Scott then proceeded to his room to retrieve the anonymous note he had received at school a few weeks prior. Upon examining the back of the note, he noticed it contained an address and a time. He placed the note back inside and returned to attend to Scala.
Meanwhile, Bess was seated by the pool; it was unclear whether she had been pushed or had intentionally fallen in. Following this incident, she burned her pink shirt. As night fell, Scott assisted Scala in getting ready for bed.
