After the appearance of the bat and the hedgehog, Sonic got in front of Mr. Tinker while Xenolith was ready to combat this new adversary.
SONIC: "Hold on, Shadow! This isn't what it looks like!"
XENOLITH: "So his name is Shadow, huh? What about the bat?"
SONIC: "That's Rouge, a treasure hunter and an agent for the government."
XENOLITH: "Got it."
ROUGE: "Talk fast, Big Blue. We definitely head him say he was rebuilding Eggman Land. And you know how stubborn Shadow can be."
Shadow storms past Sonic, glaring daggers at Mr. Tinker.
SONIC: "I'll admit, that "Eggman Land" thing is iffy—" He speeds in front of Shadow, halting him. "—But I'm sure it's okay! This isn't Dr. Eggman."
MR. TINKER: "Th-That's right! Apparently he looks an awful lot like me! B-But I'm just your friendly, neighborhood Handyman— Mr. Tinker!"
XENOLITH: "Oh, how far from the truth that is..."
Sonic leaned close to Shadow's ear.
SONIC: "He's totally lost his memory. Me, Xenolith, the Chaotix, the villagers— we've all confirmed it."
Shadow scoffs, pushing Sonic out of the way.
SHADOW: "Losing one's memory doesn't make them any less dangerous."
XENOLITH: "That's exactly what I told to Sonic."
Shadow stops, turning to Xenolith with a slightly raised eyebrow.
SHADOW: "And you are?"
XENOLITH: "Xenolith the Hybrid at your service. I've been looking into the Badnik attacks, I just so happen to run into Blue on the way."
SHADOW: "Hm."
He continues to march towards Mr. Tinker, but was stopped by Sonic.
SONIC: "Yeah— okay —fair points for both of you, but he—"
Shadow had enough and dodged Sonic quickly moved in front of Mr. Tinker.
SONIC: "You're not listening."
Shadow attempted to move past Sonic, but the blue hedgehog blocked his every move.
SONIC: "You're. Not. Touching him!"
Shadow snapped and tried to punch Sonic, but the blue blur caught the punch and slammed Shadow into the wall of a nearby building. Xenolith watched with a blank look.
