New Born
When Elizabeth died she wasn't expecting to wake up in the middle of being born once again.
In fact the last thing she remembered before this was being in a car crash. It was dark at night and a deer ran into the road, she swerved and went off the road and into a tree. It was quick, but anything but painless.
When she was finally able to open her eyes she found herself looking at none other than Isobel Flemming.
"Elizabeth and Elena." The woman said, crying as she said the names.
And just like before Isobel was gone the next day.
All of the days ran together and one month turned to two, turned to four, turned to eight. And it was soon time for the first words.
She and Elena were on the floor, playing with random toys and Miranda, when Grayson got a phone call. They could hear the yelling from their place in the living room.
"I don't damn well care, Whitmore, get it done." Grayson said to the man on the phone.
"D-d- Damn." Elizabeth sputtered out as the man came back into the room.
"No. No, no, no, Lizzie. That's a bad word. Don't say that." Miranda said to her daughter, picking her up, before turning to glare deeply at her husband who looked sheepish.
2 Years
By now Elizabeth was now sleeping in a bed instead of a crib, thank God, but with the bed came dreams she didn't understand. And when she woke up during a very bad one, one night she was comforted by her parents, who soon told her that they were expecting a baby, trying to calm her down.
Year Four
She was at the park when she saw him watching.
She had just made friends with Caroline, Bonnie, and Tyler when she saw Mikael. He was watching from across the street. But that wasn't the strange part, she had been watching for him, the strange part was that she had a flashback to one of her memories that usually only came when she was sleeping.
Elizabeth, or Beth as she was more commonly well known at this time, was standing with her sister, looking for food to purchase for the nights dinner, when she heard Rebekah calling for her brother, Henrik. It was usual to see the two youngest of Mikael and Easter's children running around, happy, and it always made those who lived there smile to see something so pure.
Most of them had been werewolves, others were humans. And it was no secret that the family had been one of those to move to this side of the world twenty or so years ago. And while the wolves grew up being tame, and stoic, it was refreshing to see those who weren't that way.
"Come on Henrik, our brothers are fighting again!" The blonde called, and the boy, no older than 13, followed close behind.
"Go. Be with your friends." Her sister told her.
"No. I couldn't leave you. Mother would have a fit." Beth said as she picked up an apple to inspect.
"And yet I do not see mother. I only see you and me. Go. I'll come find you when it's time to go home." Tatia told her.
"Are you sure?" Beth asked, concern written all over her face.
"Yes, now go before you miss the fight." Tatia said, both of them giggling as Beth handed her sister the appeal before running of as she continued to giggle to herself.
When she appeared next to Rebekah and Henrik it was something both men took notice of quickly.
"Oh look, our sister and Beth have arrived to watch my fast approaching victory!" Elijah teased his younger brother.
"On the contrary, Elijah..." Niklaus said, swinging his sword to cut Elijah's belt off his waist. "They've come to laugh at you!" He finished as everyone clapped and laughed.
"Relax, Mikael. Niklaus means well." The voice of Esther cut the air, causing everyone to go silent as Mikael approached the two men.
"That is precisely my problem." He said, taking Elijah's sword, turning to Niklaus. "So, why don't you teach me that trick, young warrior?" He questioned, swinging at his son. Hard.
"Father, we were just having fun." Niklaus said in a small voice, one that didn't resonate with the loud, laughing man from just moments ago.
"We fight for our survival! And you find time for fun?! I want to have fun! Teach me! Come on!" Mikael yelled as he continued to swing heavily at his son, who tried to block the advances, but his clear fear of the man made it hard for him to do as much.
"Father, it was nothing..." Niklaus told the man who quickly disarmed him before slamming Niklaus onto the ground, flat on his back, sword at his throat.
"You are foolish and impulsive, my boy. What? No more laughter?" Mikael yelled out, and everyone flinched.
Everyone but Beth that was.
"You've made your point, Mikael!" Ester yelled out, and as Mikael went to turn back to his son he soon found the blade of a dagger pointed at his throat, close enough that if he so much as breathed the wrong way it would cut into his skin.
"I believe you heard the woman. Back away." Beth said, a hard look in her eyes as she stared at the older man.
"Look at this, boy. This girl has more guts than you seem to do." He spat, stabbing the sword into the ground; right next to Niklaus' head. "Some days, it's a miracle you're still alive, boy." He spat once again, getting up and walking away with his wife following quickly behind.
"Up you get." Beth said, holding her hand out for the blonde man at her feet. He stared at her hand, his face twisting into a glare as he looked up at the girl, before getting to his feet.
"I didn't need rescuing. Next time leave things be." He told the girl, walking away as she frowned after him, her face quickly turning into a glare of her own as Elijah stepped forward towards the girl.
"Your brother needs to learn the words 'thank you'." Beth huffed before walking in the opposite direction.
When Lizzie came out of the flash back she realized she was screaming, and parents were surrounding her.
"Lizzie, what is it?" Her mother was asking her, trying to calm her down.
"There was a man, he was watching Elena and I." Lizzie said, pointing to where he had been standing, but was now nothing but an empty space.
After that day it wasn't soon after that Abby had left Bonnie, breaking the younger girls heart. And only Lizzie knew why.
