Year 11
"Come on, put it in!" Caroline excitedly said as they all sat around a tree at Mystic High School, one of the Forbes plastic food container sitting between them. They were all putting in photos, letters, and some other stuff, hoping that when they opened it up one day that they would all be better than what they were now.
Lizzie's letter went something like;
Dear future me, or my kids, or whoever finds this,
I want to be different than I am.
Elizabeth Medows died the day her car went off the road and that day Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Gilbert was born.
I was a girl who was nothing but chaos. I ran around acting like I knew everything. Now I do know everything.
Except for who I really am.
These girls next to me are writing about how they want to be a writer, a ballerina, and a photographer. But me, I just want to be me.
I want to find my soulmates, I want to give them the love I know they deserve while they try to give me the same in return the best they can.
I just want to be happy. I want everything to be okay. I want to remember my past, I want to remember who I am, while also trying to be who I want to become.
I hope that by the time this is opened that will come true.
With a sigh Lizzie kissed hers and put it into the container and placed it in the hole as Caroline put the dirt on top of it.
"There! Now were all best friends forever. No take backs." Caroline said happily.
"No take backs." The girls agreed, all giggling to each other.
15 Years
By this point Lizzie had mastered her powers and had even triggered her curse. She went to the local prison and killed the worst of them with her magic so no one knew. And because she's a hybrid she was able to control her turn.
And then the day came, the boy that was said to be the first of her soulmates moved into town. So she showed up at his house, ready to welcome him into town, but the moment the door opened she wasn't ready for the face behind it.
Buffy had just found Mary, Queen of Scots dying just a few hours ago, she'd read her mind and took her identity, erasing the minds of the men who were driving the carriage, knowing this was the only way to hide from whoever killed her family just a few short days ago.
And at the moment she was standing with her new friends, Lola, Kenna, Greer, and Aylee. Well, not her friends.
She was waiting for her future husband, Prince Francis. And when he came out she gave him a smile.
"I don't believe it." She said kindly, trying to play the part.
"Your Grace." The man said, bowing to her.
"No, call me Mary, please." She said, and he gave her a small smile and a slight nod.
"Francis." He greeted back.
"The castle seems bigger. Is that possible? And you, too, of course." She rambled nervously, not knowing if this would be the moment she died or not. She didn't want to take that chance. And hearing her ladies snicker at her from behind didn't help much.
"Is that such a surprise?" He asked, amused.
"No. Especially since your legs were always longer than mine. You know, I hated that when we were young-- I was always chasing after you-- but, now... uh...now it suits you." She rambled, and with a smile and a small nod he made a slight gesture toward Mary and they walked away together.
It was that moment that made Mary feel as if everything would be okay.
"Francis." She said and he smiled.
"Mary." He said back to her, smiling just as bright as he reached forward and pulled her into a hug.
"Elizabeth." She said and he pulled away, frowning at her in confusion. "My real name is Elizabeth, and I have a lot to explain to you."
Year 16
It took a lot of explaining to both Francis and his mother, Catherine, on what happened, who she was, and was was going on. And even then she didn't tell them everything, only pieces.
But over time everything worked out and they forgave her, and now she and Francis were stronger than ever. Even stronger than they had been in the past, because now they could be "just a girl" and "just a boy", the only thing they had always wanted.
And in a few months, everything would change, but they were both ready for it.
