The playful teasing had faded from her expression, replaced by a quieter, more attentive look. She leaned back slightly, still holding onto me, but her focus was sharp now.

Weiss: "The thing you wanted to talk about... it’s actually serious?"

I paused, feeling the weight of her words settle in. Her intuition was sharp as always, and I wasn’t surprised she could tell something was off. I sighed, scratching the back of my head, trying to find the right words.

Klaus: "How’d you know?"

Weiss: "It’s because your ears... they’ve been drooping ever since I saw you, except when you’re... well, when you’re kissing me."

She trailed off, her cheeks tinged pink as she glanced away, clearly embarrassed by her own words. I couldn't help but laugh lightly, both at the unexpected honesty and the way she looked at me, flustered.

Klaus: "I guess I can't hide it from you, huh?"

I reached up to straighten my ears, a bit sheepish, but I couldn't deny the warmth that spread through me at her words. I could feel Weiss's gaze on me, but I wasn't sure how to explain. Not yet.

Klaus: "It's... complicated. There's a lot more to it than what it seems. Some decisions are being made... ones that I can't share just yet. But they’re not as simple as they appear on the surface."

Weiss: "You always keep things from. Half of the time I don't know what you're thinking Klaus and it just hurts me you know?"

Weiss sat alone, her usual composure slipping as her shoulders slumped. Her pale fingers gripped the edge of the table, trembling slightly, as if holding herself together. The spark in her icy blue eyes had dimmed, replaced by a quiet frustration and lingering sadness.

Klaus: "I'm sorry Weiss, but a lot has happened to me. I'm sorry that I haven't told you anything yet."

Weiss: "I know it's difficult but please don't run from it ok? I'll wait for you to open up."

Klaus: "I won't. I promise. I'll tell you everything once the Festival is over."

Weiss's expression softened, though a hint of concern lingered in her eyes. She nodded slowly, as if willing to give him the space he needed, but I could see that she was still worried.

Timeskip

The moment we stepped into the festival grounds, everything felt lighter. The air was thick with the scent of food, the vibrant colors of the tents and booths, and the sound of music mixing with laughter.

I couldn’t help but smile as Weiss’ hand stayed firmly in mine. The tension from earlier seemed to melt away with each step, and for once, it felt like we could just enjoy the moment.

Weiss: "So, what do you want to do first?"

Klaus: "Well the team said we were having lunch together right?"

Suddenly, Weiss’ scroll buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and immediately her expression shifted—her brows furrowed, eyes narrowing in irritation. She swiped her finger across the screen, cutting the call without a second thought.

Klaus: "Do you wanna-"

Weiss: "No."

She said it firmly, cutting off any further questions. Her eyes were distant for a moment, and I could feel the tension hanging in the air. I respected her decision, though. If she didn’t want to talk about it, I wasn’t going to push. Afterall we all have somethings that we don't want to talk about.
