Klaus POV
The walk to Haven Academy was filled with a quiet tension. Qrow led the way, his usual carefree attitude replaced by something more serious. The rest of us followed closely-Ruby, Weiss, Yang, Jaune, Nora, Ren, and Oscar. I stayed near Weiss, my fingers unconsciously brushing against the moon pendant she had tied around my neck the day before.
Lionheart had suddenly called for a meeting, and while Qrow acted like this was expected, something about it didn't sit right with me. Too convenient. Too easy.
Klaus: "He said he had a breakthrough with the council right? To provide more Huntsman?"
Oscar: "Yes, that's what he informed Qrow"
Klaus: "And the Huntsman you tried to contact all were unavailable?"
I looked over at Qrow
Qrow: "That's right."
Klaus: "And now the council, is almost agreeing to lend us the Huntsman."
Ren: "What are you getting at Klaus?"
Klaus: "I don't know, it's just seems too convenient."
Weiss: "Then we have to keep our guard up."
As we approached the grand doors of Haven Academy, my grip tightened around the handle of my dagger. The last time I let my guard down, I woke up in Atlas with no memory of how I got there. That wasn't happening again.
Qrow pushed the door open, revealing Headmaster Lionheart standing in the middle of the room. He wore his usual nervous expression. A chill ran down my spine. There was someone else here. I couldn't see them, but I could feel them. A presence lurking, watching.
My fingers instinctively reached inside my coat-the white magic coat, its fabric flowing like a second skin-and wrapped around the handle of one of my Black Swan daggers. I didn't draw it yet, but my grip tightened.
Lionheart: "Why hello. Thank you for... coming. (nervously) There... seems to be more of you than last time." (nervous chuckle)
Qrow: "Eh, you know what they say, "The more the merrier". So what's going on with the council?"
Lionheart: "Why... did you bring your weapons?"
Qrow: "What? Leo, we're Huntsmen. You okay?"
Klaus: "Professor Ozpin told me a great deal about you."
Lionheart: "Oh-Ohh you must be Klaus Lauren."
Klaus: "Yeah I'm -"
I barely finished my sentence before I threw my dagger, the blade slicing through the air with precision. The bird resting on the ceiling beam didn't even have time to react before it was struck. The little creature darted to the side, its wings flapping wildly, but before it could escape, it transformed into a more familiar form-Raven, standing confidently just behind Lionheart.
The room fell silent, everyone's eyes darting between Raven and me. She was looking straight at me with that ever-present smirk, her eyes cold but mischievous. I felt a wave of tension roll through the group as I slowly walked forward, retrieving my dagger.
Klaus: "Didn't expect you to show up like this. Should've figured you'd have your own way of making an entrance."
Ruby: "Raven..."
Nora: "They... they really are magic..."
Raven: (taking her mask off) "If you're going to shoot me, shoot me. That was insulting."
Qrow: "What are you doing here?!"
Raven: (walking down the stairs) "I could ask you the same thing. You've been scheming, little brother. Planning to attack your own sister."
