Weiss' POVEverything was happening too fast. One moment, Klaus was standing, defiant as ever, and the next, he was on the ground, blood pooling around him.
Weiss: "No... No, no, no—Klaus!"
I gasped, dropping to my knees beside him. My hands trembled as I reached for him, his skin growing cold beneath my touch.
Jaune came rushing toward us, skidding to a stop beside Klaus, his expression filled with panic and urgency.
Jaune: "Weiss, keep him awake!"
I clutched Klaus' hand, gripping it as tightly as I could.
Weiss: "Klaus, look at me! Stay with me! You hear me? You can't—you can't leave me!" My voice cracked, and I felt the sting of tears as they streamed down my face.
His breathing was ragged, uneven. He tried to speak, but only a weak gasp escaped his lips.
I turned desperately, searching for Ruby, hoping—praying—she could do something. But she lay motionless, unconscious. My chest tightened. We were losing.
Nora slid next to us, positioning herself between us and the battle, her hammer at the ready.
Nora: "I'll cover you! Just—just don't let him die, okay?!"
I looked down at Klaus again, my vision blurred by tears.
Weiss: "You're not allowed to die, Klaus... I won't let you!" My hands pressed against his wound, trying to stop the bleeding. "You promised me a lifetime of annoying me! You don't get to break that promise now!"
His dim eyes flickered toward me, a weak smile playing at his lips, but it was laced with pain. My heart clenched.
Weiss: "Hold on... please..." My voice was barely a whisper now. "Just hold on..."
Jaune's hands trembled as he pressed them against Klaus' wound, his face twisted in desperation.
Jaune: "I can't let you die," he choked out, voice raw with emotion. "I already lost Pyrrha... I won't lose you too."
His aura flickered around him, golden light pulsing weakly as he tried to pour his healing into Klaus. But there was so much blood. Too much.
Klaus coughed, his breaths ragged and uneven. His hand weakly gripped mine, his fingers barely holding on.
Klaus: "Jaune..." he murmured, his voice hoarse, "You... suck at pep talks."
A wet laugh bubbled up from my throat despite the terror gripping me. "Idiot," I whispered, squeezing his hand tighter.
Weiss: "Stop wasting energy talking."
Jaune's hands trembled as he pressed down harder, his voice breaking. His breathing was ragged, his eyes desperate.
Jaune: "No, it wasn't supposed to be like this! Please!" We can't lose anyone else..."
His words echoed in my head, drowning everything else out. I gripped Klaus' hand even tighter, my whole body shaking. His skin was cold, too cold. This wasn't fair. This wasn't how this was supposed to end.
