NINE

I sat in front of my big dressing mirror, fully set and ready to go, when. I got a text from Mara, saying she was coming over to my place to stay for a couple of days.
"What does she want now ?" I scoffed and threw my phone on the bed so I could add a little touch to my lips.

After so many years of trying to get close to him, he finally looked my way, not just that he asked me out too. Wow. What a way for my dreams to come through.

After Mara had stormed away after confronting Leo that day, I saw how stifled he looked and decided to stay back to apologize on her behalf, at least then I'll get to say something to him without Mara being around.

"Sorry about how she spoke to you, you know she does play with matters that concern Josh, right?" I said, trying my best "sorry" look at him.
"It's fine, I guess, I don't even know why I interfered", Leo said recovering from everything that had just happened.
"Sure, see you around. Bye," I made to leave.
"Leah, wait" Leo grabbed her hand to stop her.

What!!! oh my God, he knows my name, he knows my name!!!, I was trying so hard now to conceal the fireworks going on in my head... stomach. Whatever. Leonard Peters knows my name. Im getting sugar high after school today.

"Yes,?" I turned hoping nobody would notice my red face.
"Are you maybe free today after school, maybe we could grab a few drinks and stuff" he asked slightly flashing his snow-white teeth.

Did I maybe not get up from my bed this morning, was I still on my ned sleeping at home, ki and this was maybe some dream?? Leo was standing in front of me, and not only that the hottest boy in school was asking me to have drinks with him after school. Maybe im finally getting rewarded for doing a good deed, even though I didn't remember the last time I did a good deed.

He was holding my hands, so it was real.

"Leah? Did you listen to what I just said?" he asked, jolting her back to real life.
"Uhh, yes, sure. See you after school" I managed to reply, not minding that I just made a fool of myself.
"I'll text you the address on IG," he said as he made to leave.
" you have my IG,?" I asked completely shocked.
"Yes, I do. Pretty_lee" he winked and walked down the hall.

I pinched myself so hard, to make sure everything that just happened was real.
"Ouch" It hurt, it was real, it happened, I danced down the hall to class.

I spent the whole day looking forward to the date with Leo after school, I didn't bother to tell Mara, she would have been a killjoy anyway.

One thing I've always wanted is finally coming to me, and won't let Mara ruin it. I made up my mind to text her and give an excuse, whatever her problem is, she should handle it herself, could there be trouble in paradise?, anyways I don't care.

For my date, I picked out a two-piece jeans and jacket I got from FASHION NOVIA, and I paired them with a white crop top I picked from a store, I can't remember wear, and I've decided to launch my latest limited edition bag I got from CHANEL. Why not start a new journey with new things?

I got to Zellers Wine and Dine, 20 minutes early because I wanted to pick a good seat, somewhere with the light behind me, it makes my skin pop. I tied my thick blonde into a half bun because it made my eyes pop. I was willing to let Leo see me and not get over me. I mean, everyone at school knows how he is with girls and I was ready to keep him.

Twenty minutes later, I saw him walk into the restaurant. I could almost not believe that, that Greek God incarnate was coming to sit with me, his brown hair made a perfect coordinate with his blue eyes, just like Mara's. Why was u thinking about her now?
He wore a blue jacket that completely matched mine, the universe was working in my favor.

He saw me and and smiled, so lush, I think I saw a diamond shine just like in the cartoons. He waved and walked up to me.
I did a lot of talks in my head to make sure, I didn't want to look too excited and ruin things. I mean I'm the PRIZE too.

"Hi, did I keep you waiting ?" he asked as he sat in front of me.
He smelt so nice, I felt the breeze of heavy his perfume swept across my face. How can one look so good and smell so nice? I'm not letting this one go.

"Hey," I managed to say. " I didn't wait for long, I just got here too" I lied. Well maybe not exactly, I couldn't let him think I was one Junior girl who was so eager to see him.

"What should we have, I'm starving", he glanced through the menu and signaled a waiter to come here. "I'll have a bottle of coke and a medium-sized pep pizza with extra cheese", he dropped the menu and caught the waiter looking at him puzzled.
"Pep pizza, we don't have that sir" the waiter responded, calmly not wanting to make the situation look weird"
"Oh, sorry, I meant pepperoni pizza" he chuckled.
"And you ma'am?", the waiter turned to me.
"Uh, I'll have the same thing" I wasn't here for food anyway.

Since we were going to have to have the same thing, Leo asked for a large-sized one. Wow, he wanted us to eat from the same box.

"I'm glad you agreed to meet up with me, I've been meaning to ask but I didn't know how you'd take it, thank you for coming", he said, easing into his seat even more.

He has always wanted to ask?

"Oh, it's fine, why do you think you don't know how I'd take it, I don't bite yunno" I liked this. Sitting here and having him all to myself.

"Well, because......." Just then his phone rang, I didn't think he was going to pick it, but he saw the caller ID and said it was his dad.
I didn't like that his dad called now, what if he's needed at home and has to leave? I didn't like this.

"Uh, Leah im sorry, I have to go home now, my dad called and said it was urgent" he looked sorry.
"let's do this some other time, okay," he said and walked out. He didn't even look back once.

What am I supposed to do with the pizza he already ordered, it's a good thing he already paid.
What was so important that he had to leave?, is it not rude to leave just like that in the middle of a "date", he didn't even compliment my outfit or say I looked pretty, I think it's only important that "D' LEO" was here.

The pizza came and I asked for it to be boxed, I'll take it home and have a pity party. I guess.
