One month had passed since the accident, and Mingyu was finally being discharged from the hospital. He still moved cautiously, his body aching from the lingering injuries, but his mind was sharper than ever. Jeonghan had been a constant presence during his recovery, despite the walls they both tried to keep up.

As part of Mingyu’s rehabilitation, Seokjin and Taehyung insisted he come home to their estate, where he could rest under their care. Naturally, they expected Jeonghan to come too—after all, they were still playing the role of the perfect couple.

Settling In

The Kim estate was as grand as ever, its sprawling gardens and luxurious interiors radiating warmth. Jeonghan helped Mingyu settle into a guest room on the ground floor, one closer to the amenities.

“You don’t have to fuss over me,” Mingyu said, his tone soft but teasing as Jeonghan fluffed his pillows.

Jeonghan rolled his eyes. “You’re lucky I’m pretending to care.”

Mingyu chuckled but winced slightly as the movement jarred his ribs. Jeonghan’s sharp gaze caught it immediately.

“See? This is why I’m fussing,” Jeonghan muttered, his voice softer now.

Mingyu didn’t reply, instead watching him closely. There was something different about Jeonghan—an uncharacteristic tiredness in his movements, a paleness to his usually glowing skin.

Taehyung’s Observations

Taehyung, ever the doting parent, was quick to notice Jeonghan’s subtle changes. Over breakfast, he watched as Jeonghan barely touched his food, his appetite clearly diminished.

“Jeonghan,” Taehyung began casually, pouring tea into his cup, “you’re not eating much. Are you feeling okay?”

Jeonghan looked up, startled by the question. “I’m fine,” he replied quickly, offering a tight smile.

But Taehyung wasn’t convinced. He glanced at Seokjin, who gave him a knowing look, before turning back to Jeonghan. “You look pale. Have you been sleeping well?”

Jeonghan’s hands tensed around his fork. “I’ve just been busy,” he lied, glancing briefly at Mingyu.

Mingyu frowned, his sharp eyes narrowing. Jeonghan’s health hadn’t escaped his notice either, and now that Taehyung had mentioned it, his concern grew.

The Moment of Truth

That evening, Jeonghan excused himself early, claiming exhaustion. Taehyung, however, wasn’t ready to let it go. He followed Jeonghan to the guest room where he was staying, knocking gently before entering.

“Jeonghan,” Taehyung said softly, closing the door behind him. “I don’t mean to pry, but I can’t ignore this. Are you sure you’re okay? You seem... off.”

Jeonghan hesitated, his gaze darting away. “I’m fine, really. You’re worrying for nothing.”

Taehyung crossed his arms, his expression kind but firm. “Don’t lie to me. If there’s something wrong, we need to know. Mingyu’s been through enough—he doesn’t need to worry about you too.”

The words hit Jeonghan like a blow. His vision blurred for a moment, and he gripped the edge of the dresser to steady himself.

“Jeonghan?” Taehyung’s voice was sharper now, filled with alarm.

“I’m fine,” Jeonghan repeated, but his voice cracked, betraying him. His knees buckled, and Taehyung was at his side in an instant, guiding him to sit down.

“Enough of this,” Taehyung said firmly. “I’m calling a doctor.”

The Revelation

The doctor arrived the next day, summoned discreetly by Taehyung. Jeonghan reluctantly agreed to an examination, too tired to argue.

When the results came back, the room fell into a heavy silence. Taehyung sat with Jeonghan in the study, his face pale as he read the report.

“Jeonghan,” Taehyung began, his voice trembling slightly. “You... you’re pregnant.”

Jeonghan’s world seemed to stop. His breath caught in his throat as he stared at Taehyung in disbelief.

“That’s impossible,” Jeonghan whispered. “It’s... it’s not possible.”

But deep down, he knew the truth. The timing matched perfectly with the heat he’d endured with Mingyu.

Taehyung reached out, placing a comforting hand on Jeonghan’s shoulder. “Does Mingyu know?”

Jeonghan shook his head, his heart pounding. “No. And he can’t find out.”

Taehyung frowned. “Jeonghan, this isn’t something you can hide forever. Mingyu has a right to know.”

Jeonghan looked away, tears brimming in his eyes. “It was a mistake. It wasn’t supposed to happen. Please, don’t tell him.”

Taehyung hesitated, torn between his loyalty to Mingyu and his growing concern for Jeonghan. But one thing was clear: this secret wouldn’t stay buried for long.

The Looming Storm

As Jeonghan returned to Mingyu’s side that evening, his heart was heavy with the weight of his secret. Mingyu watched him carefully, sensing that something was wrong but choosing not to press—for now.

But the truth was a ticking time bomb, and Jeonghan knew it was only a matter of time before everything came crashing down.
