Chapter 30: Dino's Big News

The house was quieter than usual, a rare moment of peace in the chaos that was always swirling around the Kim family. Jeonghan and Mingyu were sitting on the couch, sipping tea, while Dino played with his blocks on the floor, his chubby little hands stacking them high with determination.

"Are you excited for your new sibling, Dino?" Jeonghan asked softly, his gaze on the small boy.

Dino looked up, his eyes bright with excitement, and nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, Mama! I’m going to be big brother!"

Mingyu smiled at the thought, resting his hand on Jeonghan’s shoulder. "You’re going to be a great oppa, Dino. You’ll help take care of the baby, right?"

Dino’s eyes sparkled. "Yes! I’ll teach baby to play with toys! I’ll show baby how to crawl!" He paused, frowning slightly. "But... no crying, okay?"

Jeonghan chuckled, brushing his son’s hair back. "We can’t promise no crying, baby. Babies cry sometimes, but you’ll help make them feel better, right?"

Dino nodded seriously, as though he fully understood. "Okay. I’ll say ‘shh, baby, no cry’."

Mingyu laughed softly. "That’s right, little man. You’ll be the best big brother."

The Big Reveal

A few weeks later, the moment they’d all been waiting for finally arrived. Jeonghan had been feeling the signs of her pregnancy growing more intense—nausea, fatigue, and the unmistakable feeling of something stirring inside her. After a series of doctor’s visits, the time had come to share the news with Dino that he was finally going to be an oppa, a big brother.

Dino was in the living room again, stacking his toys and talking to himself, when Jeonghan and Mingyu walked over to him. Jeonghan knelt down, smiling warmly at their son.

"Dino," she began softly, "we have something really exciting to tell you."

Dino paused, looking up from his blocks, his face full of curiosity. "What? What is it, Mama?"

Mingyu knelt beside Jeonghan, putting his hand on Dino’s shoulder. "You’re going to be an oppa, buddy."

Dino’s eyes widened, his face lighting up with pure joy. "Really? I’m gonna be oppa?"

"Yes," Jeonghan said, smiling at his son’s excitement. "You’re going to have a little brother or sister soon."

Dino jumped up, bouncing around with excitement. "I’m big brother! I’m going to teach baby to crawl! And play with toys!"

Mingyu laughed, picking him up and spinning him around. "You’re going to be amazing, Dino. I’m proud of you."

As the weeks passed, Dino’s anticipation grew. He would often talk to the baby, telling them about the games they would play together and how he would be the best big brother. Jeonghan and Mingyu couldn’t help but smile at his innocent excitement.

One evening, as Jeonghan rested on the couch, Dino climbed up beside her and placed his little hand on her stomach. "Baby, are you in there?" he asked, his voice full of wonder.

Jeonghan chuckled softly, nodding. "Yes, baby is in there, waiting to meet you."

Dino smiled, nodding in agreement. "I can’t wait."

As much as the couple was looking forward to the arrival of their second child, they were also keenly aware of the changes it would bring. But with Dino by their side, so full of love and eagerness to be a big brother, they knew that their family was ready for the next chapter.

"She’s so small," Dino said, looking at his baby sister in awe. "Can I hold her?"

Mingyu smiled and carefully placed the baby in Dino’s arms, making sure he was steady. "She’s all yours, oppa."

Dino’s eyes lit up as he gazed down at the little bundle in his arms. "I’m oppa now," he said proudly. "I’ll protect you, little sister!"

Jeonghan smiled, her heart full. "You’re already doing a great job, Dino."
