Dylan.
1:10 pmMusic blared out from the speakers that sat on the big desk in the small room that I sat in. The small room use to belong to my brother Todd, still does except usually he is out elsewhere making music then just doing it here. Since he had moved out he let me use the room for me to blare my music though my mom didn't really like it.
I sat back in the rolling chair, my eyes closed with my feet up on another chair. The song was bit more calm than the usual style of music I listened to which was rap but it depended. This song was an original from my brother, he didn't use a lead singer just his voice at times. I exhaled softly while the music went through my head making my shoulders relax a bit.
Tiny little bare feet ran across the hallways, my little tiny bare feet. I could hear the soft sounds that they made, trying to go a bit slower but ended up making squeaking sounds in the freshly cleaned floor. I grunted quietly but still made the effort of to get to the door without being loud. I was at the door, the handle was a bit taller than me but I could reach it. I had been growing like a lot in the past few weeks well that's what my mom said.
I looked up at the handle but didn't make a move to reach for it, yet. I pressed my big ear which was probably too big for my head against the door. I could hear a soft melody from the other side and someone singing. Todd was singing, I couldn't hear the lyrics but it sounded good. I then realized he was playing the guitar, I had heard him play in front of others just not sing. At the same time it was amazing yet funny since his voice sounded raspy. I covered my mouth, stifling a giggle.
I kept my ear close to the door as he started to change the song into something different with a bit more excitement in it. I listened to him to what felt like twenty minutes but I didn't know that. I liked to hear Todd's voice though it wasn't the best I liked to hear his music. A click turned on which I didn't notice at first until the door opened, causing me to fall forward. Looking up I saw Todd, Todd my brother.I could hear a banging noise from outside, I ignored it keeping my eyes closed guessing it was the neighbour's kids or something. A click locked in and the door flew open, the music was still blaring and I didn't even notice it had changed to a more upbeat rhythm. The door startled me, waking me up and seeing my brother walk in. He had a bit of a frustrated look on his face.
Todd made his way to the computer, turning it off with also the music turning off as well. I looked at him and glared.
What the fuck Todd, I never walked in when you were in here. Why would you do the same to me. Smh just because you're older...
"Dylan we have to get going, like now! You have an audition and we're already late for the ferry! Mom has been banging.." Todd faded out a bit while I cursed to myself in my head.
Holy shit Dylan! I already knew ugh I need to get my shit together.
"...and I'm driving your ass. So get up and get to the car now!" He said in a raised voice.
Usually Todd didn't really mind being late when he took me to auditions, I was usually the one spazzing to him to drive faster but this kind of seemed important. He was probably meeting someone.^.^^.^.^.^.^
We had just made it and the ferry was still waiting for passengers. I sighed in relief, this audition was pretty important but I thought they all were. Sometimes I thought my job was more important than my real life. I had friends and all but it sometimes sucked having to be homeschooled. I didn't really hang with any of them lately except my cousin but that's family. I dunno, their my friends and they don't mind, I think.
I looked over to see Todd, he was biting his thumb like he did when he was nervous. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Mom said you shouldn't do that." I said in a low tone.
"I can do whatever the fuck I want Dylan."
"Okay." My voice came out raspy and soft.
Someone was being pissy today.
But telling myself a comeback I could've said didn't help that much so I let it go. I leaned my head on the window, hearing music break the silence. It was loud and different to what Todd usually listened to but I didn't want to say anything else.| I wrote part 11 and published it today but I decided to delete it because it sucked and wrote a better and longer one. So here it is :)
