𝟎5:49 𝐚𝐦"There's no chance you will go with me to the gym now?" Leni stormed into Brodys room at 6 am.
"Never heard of a good morning?" Brody grumbled back at his best friend. "Could you not be so loud? Trent is sleeping."
Leni scrunched her eyebrows together, looking at her best friend who is clearly alone in bed "Huh?"
Brody- who still has not opened his eyes point to his opened MacBook "he's on the other line."
"I thought you were sleeping." Leni sat down on his bed.
"Yeah I was trying to, until a maniac stormed into my room at-" he paused to look at his MacBook "6 am? No, get the fuck out. You are joking."
"I'm not, come on." She shook him trying to wake him up. "You are awake now anyways."
"Nuh uh" Brody mumbled "I'm still trying to get some sleep. Piss off!"
"Alright, asshole." She said standing up "Fuck you."
"The next time you thinking about coming into my room," he yelled behind her "the least thing you could do is knock." Both of them knew he actually didn't mean it but he was still pissed. Leni slammed his door shut, annoyed at her friend not going with her to the gym.
The sharp sound of the slammed door echoed through the quiet hallway. Leni stalked down the corridor of their shared apartment, her sneakers squeaking faintly against the wooden floor. The early morning light streamed through the thin curtains in the living room, casting long, angular shadows on the walls.
She huffed to herself, muttering, "Lazy bastard. Who needs friends anyway?" But her frustration didn't entirely mask the smirk tugging at her lips. It was typical Brody—grumpy and unfiltered before his first cup of coffee. Still, she wished he'd humor her once in a while.
By the time she reached the kitchen, she realized her annoyance wasn't enough to deter her workout. She poured herself a glass of water and grabbed a protein bar from the counter. Her gym bag was already packed by the door, waiting faithfully for her like it always did. Slinging it over her shoulder, she slipped on her jacket, determined to sweat out her irritation.
Meanwhile, Brody groaned, rolling over in his bed. The glow of his MacBook screen illuminated the dark room, where the only sound was Trent's soft breathing through the headphones.
"You're still there, right?" Brody muttered groggily, tapping at his keyboard to ensure the call hadn't disconnected.
"Yeah, man. I didn't go anywhere." Trent's voice was low but amused. "Sounds like Leni's as high-energy as ever."
Brody snorted, rubbing his eyes. "High-energy? She's like a tornado. Who barges into someone's room at six in the morning? On a Sunday?"
"Someone who knows you probably stayed up way too late watching American Horror story or whatever it is you're obsessed with now."
"It was Rupauls drag race, and it was research," Brody retorted, flipping over onto his back. He let out a long sigh, staring at the ceiling. "She's mad because I won't go to the gym with her."
"Can you blame her? You haven't worked out in, what, three weeks?"
"Two," Brody corrected, frowning. "I've been busy."
"Right. 'Busy.'" Trent's sarcasm was as sharp as ever. "Anyway, I'm signing off. Get some sleep, and maybe consider apologizing to Leni before she starts plotting your demise."
