Sieg and Arcia returned to the library, its once-quiet atmosphere now heavy with dread. As they entered, a chilling sight greeted them: Shadow stood in the center of the room, gripping the old librarian by his robes. The man’s face was pale, his breath shallow.

“Stay back!” Sieg shouted, unsheathing his sword.

Shadow turned, her piercing eyes meeting his. With a sinister grin, she whispered, “You’re too late.”

Before they could react, she plunged her clawed hand into the old man’s chest. His lifeless body crumpled to the ground as Shadow vanished into black mist.

“No!” Arcia cried, running to the old man’s side, but it was too late.

“She destroyed him—and probably everything he knew,” Sieg said, his voice tight with anger. “We need to keep moving.”

The Staircase

They descended the spiral staircase into the depths of the library. The air grew colder and heavier with each step.

At the bottom, they found the scrying device, or rather, what was left of it. Shadow had shattered it, shards of glass and metal scattered across the floor.

“Well, that’s one way to cover her tracks,” Arcia muttered.

“Come on,” Sieg urged, spotting another door. They pushed it open and continued further down into the unknown.

---

The Old Mine

The door led to a forgotten mine system, its tunnels lined with rusted rails and rotting beams. The air was thick with dust, and the faint echoes of dripping water filled the space.

They ventured deeper, eventually coming to a massive chasm. A staircase once spanned the gap, but it had long since crumbled into ruin.

“No more jumping across stones,” Arcia said, crossing her arms.

Sieg nodded. “Let’s find another way down.”

After some searching, they discovered an old chain hanging from a nearby cart. They rolled the cart onto the rails and secured the chain, preparing to climb down.

---

The Vampire Bats

As they began their descent, the air filled with an eerie screeching. From the shadows emerged vampire bats, their crimson eyes glowing like embers.

“Here we go again,” Arcia said, drawing her pistols.

Sieg summoned Thanatos, unleashing missile blasts to scatter the swarm. Arcia’s bullets found their marks, the bats falling one by one. After a fierce battle, the swarm was defeated, their lifeless bodies dropping into the abyss below.

“Let’s move,” Sieg said, gripping the chain tightly.

They climbed down, the journey slow and arduous. At the bottom, they found themselves in a vast chamber filled with knight statues.

---

The Knight Statues

The statues stood in solemn rows, each holding weapons of varying designs. At the far end of the chamber was a massive stone door, its center marked with a glowing lock.

“Looks like another puzzle,” Arcia said, eyeing the statues warily.

They began experimenting, moving the statues to different positions. At first, nothing happened. Then, with a loud groan, the walls started closing in.

“Great, it’s a trap!” Sieg yelled, pulling Arcia back from the encroaching stone.

They hurriedly adjusted the statues, trying different configurations. Finally, Arcia noticed a pattern.

“The sword and shield need to be on the same statue,” she said, moving the pieces into place.

The walls stopped, and the stone door’s lock clicked open.

“Phew,” Arcia said, wiping her brow. “That was close.”

“Let’s keep going,” Sieg said, pushing the door open.

---

The Seal

Beyond the door was a small, circular chamber. At its center stood a pedestal, glowing faintly. Upon it lay the final seal.

“This is it,” Sieg said, stepping forward.

He summoned Militia, and the legion emerged, its aura radiating power. With a single, devastating strike, Militia shattered the seal.

From the light emerged the final Djinn, its form swirling with arcane energy.

“We need your help,” Arcia began, explaining their mission and the growing threat of Shadow.

The Djinn listened intently before nodding. “I will assist you, but there is one more step. The enchantment in the book you carry will summon all the Djinn to a single place. Use it wisely.”

---

Back to the Library

The Djinn raised its hand, and in a flash of light, Sieg and Arcia were teleported back to the library. The air was still heavy with the aftermath of Shadow’s attack.

“No time to mourn,” Sieg said, glancing at the old man’s lifeless body. “We have to move.”

They hurried out of the library and into the open air, their destination clear: the portal to the Dark World. The final battle was drawing near.
