Author's POV

On the other hand, Bairavan was both worried and upset about Umaiyazh's indifference to the disrespect he faced. She ignored him, demanding everything her way, unwilling to listen to his perspective. Having had enough, he left. Upon reaching the station, he was confronted with new information. He realized he had to leave Chennai to search for the team members involved in the murder. He tried calling her multiple times to inform her, but she didn't pick up, and eventually, her phone was switched off. Shortly after, he received a call from his father-in-law, informing him that Umaiyazh was now in the police quarters.

He resolved to personally meet her, freshen up, and depart today. Exhausted, he hadn't eaten or slept all night. Before leaving, he instructed his team members to return home, refresh themselves, and notify their families that they would be away for at least a week or more.

He was surely not ready for any confrontation at the moment as it would only worsen the situation as he was not in the position for calm conversation and he have no much time to...

But Umaiyazh had other ideas

When Bairavan arrived home at 2pm, he had already picked up lunch for both of them, aware that Umaiyazh would have skipped eating and would be ready to argue with him. In this brief period, he had come to understand her to a certain extent, unlike her who hadn't made much effort to understand or know him. She believed that after marriage, everything would naturally align, not realizing that it requires effort from both parties. They remain somewhat strangers, lacking deep knowledge of each other's behaviors and understanding, because such insight doesn't just appear out of nowhere, like love or some unexplained attraction and feelings they might share. Bairavan has yet to acknowledge his feelings as love, while Umaiyazh believes it is love. Sharing intimate moments and feeling possessive doesn't necessarily equate to deep love—perhaps Bairavan has realized this, but Umaiyazh has not.

He noticed her on the sofa, gazing blankly at the floor. With a sigh, he avoided starting a conversation, placed the food parcel on the table, and headed towards the bedroom. That's when he stumbled upon her discarded phone, its screen shattered. Picking it up, he glanced back at her; she turned her head away, clearly angry. Shaking his head, he approached, set the phone down beside her, and left for the bedroom without a word, leaving her both dumbfounded and hurt.

She had hoped for his comfort, an attempt to persuade her, or at least an apology. But his abrupt departure was more than she could bear. Waiting impatiently for him to emerge, she planned to confront him with a barrage of questions about his lack of acknowledgment. However, before she could act, a growl from her stomach signaled its need for food. Glancing between the food parcel on the table and the bedroom door, she let out a sigh, moved towards the dining table, and checked if he had brought food for her as well. Seeing two parcels, she sighed with relief, sat down washing her hands in the plate, picked up one parcel, and began to eat,

Bairavan emerged from his bath, dressed in formal attire rather than his uniform, and wiped his wet hair with a towel. He noticed her eating hurriedly, which brought an automatic smile to his face. Silently, he moved to the dining table, sat opposite her, and began to eat from another parcel. She glanced up from her meal and glared at him, but he simply ignored it.

After finishing their lunch in silence, Umaiyazh returned to her favourite spot on the sofa, resuming her previous position. Meanwhile, Bairavan was on a call, briefing his team on the gathering point and other necessary details. He also ordered documents they might require for the arrest if they locate the suspects there, and he gathered contact numbers for the police in that district, among other things.

Through his repeated mentions of leaving, she realized he might be on the verge of departure. He believed that emphasizing this would compel her to break her silence, feeling sorry that he had to go.
