The End of First Year

In the hospital wing the next day, Harry is lying in bed with his arm bandaged. He awakens, puts on his glasses, and sits up. There are cards and candy all over. Harry looks over to the side and sees his aunt sitting next to him reading a book.

"You wear glasses?" Harry practically whispers.

Adelaide looks up when she hears her nephews voice and smiles in relief before she lets out a small chuckle. "Sometimes."

"You barely wear them." James comments with a roll of his eyes.

"Because I'm not as blind as you are." Adelaide teases as she pokes her tongue out at her brother.

"We are magical, how come you still need glasses?" David questions.

"No need to make us question our whole lives while watching the lives of our future children Goldeye." Sirius interrupts.

She looks around at all of the cards and places her book down. "I see you have seen all the gifts from your admirers."

"Admirers?" Harry asks.

"What happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret. So, naturally, the whole school knows. As soon as Cassie was informed, she told everyone about her awesome cousin." They both let out a small laugh.

"You little gossip!" Skylar giggles as she looks at the girl.

"How else are people going to get their information?" Cassie explains with a straight face.

Harry looks over at all of the items and sees that the chocolate frogs have been opened. "Ron has saved you the trouble of opening your Chocolate Frogs. I tried to stop him, but he and Leo ganged up on me." Addelaide rolls her eyes when she thinks of those two boys.

"Yeah, we did." Ron commented with a smile as he crosses his arms over his chest.

"Ron and Leo were here? Are they all right? What about Hermione and Riley?" Harry rushes out.

"Fine. They're all fine." Addelaide assures as she rests a hand on his arm.

"But what happened to the Stone?" Harry then asks.

"Relax, sweetie." Addelaide tells him as she runs a hand through his unruly hair. "The Stone has been destroyed. Nicholas and Dumbledore had a little chat and agreed it was best all around."

"But then, Flamel, he'll die, won't he?" Harry asks.

"He has enough Elixir to set his affairs in order. But yes, he will die." Addelaide explains to him.

"How is it I got the Stone? One minute I was staring in the mirror, and the next..." Harry trails off.

"You see, only a person who wanted to find the Stone, find it, but not use it, would be able to get it." Addelaide tells him as she smiles as him, she continues to run her fingers through his hair as she soothed him.

"Does that mean, with the Stone gone, that is, that Voldemort can never come back?" Harry asks, slightly scared.

Addelaide sighs as she looks down slightly, he was a child, he shouldn't be worrying about this. "I'm afraid there are ways in which he can return. Harry, do you know why Professor Quirrell couldn't bear to have you touch him?" Harry shakes his head. "It was because of your mother. She sacrificed herself for you. And that kind of act leaves a mark." Harry touches his scar. "No, no, this kind of mark cannot be seen. It lives in your very skin."
