SATOMI LEANED against the cold, concrete wall of the training hall, her eyes fixed on Sensei Kim's students as they moved in perfect unison. Every strike, every block, every stance was synchronized, as if they were one body, one mind. It was a stark contrast to her own team at Venom Fang. They were strong, no doubt, but disjointed—each member moving to the beat of their own drum.

But one student among Sensei Kim's ranks didn't fit the mold.

Kwon Jae-sung.

He was a jagged shard in an otherwise smooth pattern. His movements, while undeniably powerful, didn't match the rhythm of his peers. He struck too soon or too late, and sometimes he didn't bother to follow the drills at all. Sensei Kim's sharp Korean reprimands echoed through the hall as she strode toward him.

"Jae-sung! Focus! You are not above this group," she snapped.

Jae-sung froze mid-kick, lowering his leg slowly. His dark eyes blazed with defiance as he turned to face her. "This group slows me down," he said in Korean, his tone flat but laced with venom.

The room fell silent. Even Satomi's team, who didn't understand the language, could feel the tension in the air.

"Stand to the side," Sensei Kim ordered, her voice cold and unyielding.

Jae-sung's lips curled into a smirk, but he obeyed, stepping out of the line. He leaned against the wall, crossing his arms as if to say, I'm still better than all of you.

Satomi's curiosity deepened. Unlike the other students, who bowed their heads and scrambled to correct their mistakes, Jae-sung stood his ground. He didn't apologize, didn't adjust, and didn't care.

"Why are you staring at him?" Akira, one of her teammates, whispered.

"Because he's... interesting," Satomi replied, her voice quiet but firm.

"Interesting?" Akira scoffed. "He's an arrogant jerk. Sensei Kim should kick him out."

Satomi ignored him, her eyes never leaving Jae-sung. There was something about him—something raw, like a storm trapped in a glass jar.
