GUNTHER BRAUN stood at the edge of the mat, his commanding presence drawing everyone's attention. He raised a microphone, his voice cutting through the arena like a blade. "The time has come. Welcome to our first event. I trust you're all well-rested and ready for a competition unlike any other. This is what we call the Captain's War. We've told you how critical your captains are, so let's see how well you protect them. Four dojos will step onto the mat, but only one will leave victorious. Remember, if you hit the mat, you're out. If one of your captains hits the mat, your entire team is eliminated. For this round, check the boards to see your group, selected by random draw. Group A, you're up."
The crowd turned to the large digital board, the names illuminating in bold, bright letters.
Group A: - Iron Dragons - Falchi della Notte - Miyagi-Do - Cobra Kai
Kwon's eyes lit up as he spotted Miyagi-Do's name listed just above Cobra Kai's. He glanced across the mat at Robby and Sam, a smirk curling on his lips.
"Cobra Kai. Of course," Daniel muttered, crossing his arms as his gaze settled on the board.
The teams in Group A separated, each moving to their designated corners of the mat.
Tory shot a quick glance at the Miyagi-Dos before turning back to her team. Kwon's tone was sharp and commanding as he addressed them. "We take Miyagi-Do first. They're the weakest. Let them come to us. Then we focus on the other dojos."
Tory's skepticism was plain on her face. "That won't work. I know how they operate. They'll protect their captains at all costs. We need to go on the offensive, break through their defense, and target the captains."
Kwon's eyes narrowed, irritation evident in his tone. "Stay out of this, okay? Just don't screw up or fall down."
Tory clenched her fists, her jaw tightening, but she said nothing more.
