"TOMI-CHAN, how the hell did you fall in there?" Murayama's voice echoed through the quiet forest, a mix of disbelief and amusement plastered on his face as he looked down at Satomi. She was sitting at the bottom of a shallow ditch, brushing dirt off her clothes and looking at him with an embarrassed smile.
"I was jogging, okay?" Satomi continued to smile, tugging her earphones out and shoving them into her pocket. "I got distracted by the song I was listening to and... well..." She trailed off, gesturing to the ditch around her. "I fell in. But I'm fine. Not a scratch on me."
Murayama shook his head, laughing under his breath as he leaned down and extended a hand. "Lucky you. Now come on, I'm not leaving you here."
With a firm grip, he pulled her out with ease. Once she was back on solid ground, she dusted herself off again and muttered something about the uneven forest paths.
"Seriously, Tomi-chan," Murayama teased, folding his arms. "Only you could manage to get distracted enough to fall into a ditch."
"Yeah, yeah," Satomi replied with a roll of her eyes. "Let's just forget about it, okay? What are you even doing out here?"
"Training," he said simply, starting to walk toward the path. "This forest is part of my usual route. But since I found you, I figured I could tell you a few stories while we walk."
"Stories, huh?" Satomi perked up. "Alright, what've you got?"
Murayama smirked as he launched into a recount of recent events at Oya Kou, the boys' school (filled with delinquents) he attended. He described a chaotic series of fights involving the school's students and a gang of dealers who had disguised themselves in Oya Kou's and Housen's school uniforms. "The whole thing was a setup," Murayama explained. "They wanted us to fight each other so they could do their dirty work while we were distracted."
"So what happened?" Satomi asked, genuinely interested.
"Well," Murayama said, "I managed to figure it out before things got completely out of hand."
