After school, Michael, Max, Tori, and Zack all return to Michael and Max's house. "Mabel and Dad should be at work" Max says as the group enters the house through the wooden front door. The group sent themselves up in the dining room and begin to work on their homework.
To no one's surprise, Michael finishes his homework first. He takes a minute to check on everyone else before leaving the room. A click is heard from the kitchen and water begins to boil.
Once everyone has finished their homework, Michael returns with a cup of tea in one hand and a notebook in the other. He sits down, setting the cup down carefully on the table over a coaster. He then sets down the notebook and opens it before picking up a black pen off the table. Max looks at him "What's this for?". Michael adjusts his glasses before speaking "Zack and I have miraculously developed powers, someone needs to record this for historical purposes, to study. "What!?" Zack says "We don't need to be studied!". "I don't mean that type of studying, just, tell me, did anything strange happen the last few days?".
Zack thinks for a moment. "I was attacked by a junkie last night...". Tori gives Zack a look of concern. "What?" she asks in a worried tone, "Are you okay?". Zack nods "I'm fine, I thought it was a nightmare but...maybe it wasn't. The guy stabbed me with a needle, it had some gold liquid in it...then I passed out and woke up in my bed this morning.". Michael begins to write all of this down in his notebook while Max and Tori just look at Zack, both concerned.
"My powers come from a mask I found in the woods last night...I think..." Michael says while writing. Max's head snaps to look at Michael "When were you gonna mention this!?"
