TW: Violence and Death
Zack is walking home after school the next day. It's a cold November evening. He takes out his phone and sees a text from Tori that reads "Get home safe!" with a heart and hugging emoji at the end. Zack smiles and texts back "You too, my bolt!" and adds a heart and lightning bolt emoji on the end.
When Zack reaches his front door, he feels an air of unease. He puts his key in the door and turns it cautiously before pushing the door open. He shuts the door once he's inside. "Mum? Dad?" he calls out to the silent house, only his echo replying to him.
He then hears a thud in the kitchen. Zack speeds into the kitchen using his powers. He's met with the sight of his mother being held by her neck by someone Zack didn't want to see. "Bullet! Put my mother down!" Zack orders. Bullet smirks. "If you say so!" he says in a giddy, sadistic voice.
Bullet's hand suddenly moves in a blur of black electricity, phasing through Zack's mother's chest. She lets out a gasp before going limp. Bullet drops her to the floor, the sadistic grin never leaving his face.
Zack is in shock. He looks at Bullet, with no emotion on his face and utters one word. "Why?". Bullet cackles and takes a step towards Zack. "Because, I want to make your life miserable...one step at a time.". Before Zack can even react, Bullet speeds past him and out of the house. Zack is confused at first but realises where Bullet is going. Zack takes a look at his mother before he takes off running as fast as he can. He needs to save Tori.
