Chapter 8; Test Drive

It's night now. Michael stands on a rooftop, looking down at the city below. He wears a black hoodie, black pants and black runners, along with a black mask that covers the lower half of his face and his usual circular glasses. He perches on the corner of the roof, listening out for any signs of trouble.

Elsewhere, Zack speeds through the dark streets, his trail of orange lightning lighting up the dark streets briefly as he races by. He's wearing a pair of red swimming goggles, a maroon hoodie, black tracksuit pants and grey runners.

A struggle is heard in the alley below Michael. Michael's eyes turn a glowing purple as he drops into the alley from the roof. He sees a man, dragging a woman into the alley. "Hey!" Michael shouts in a gruff voice. The man looks at Michael and chuckles. "Nice lenses kid!" the man snaps. Michael walks towards him. The man scoffs and shoved the woman into the wall and throws a punch at Michael. Without any hesitation, Michael catches the man's fist. He pushes the man back. The man staggers back and then pulls a knife from his pants pocket.

Suddenly, as if out of instinct, Michael's hand shoots out and a beam of purple energy fires out of his hand and strikes the man's hand, sending the knife clattering to the ground down the alley. Suddenly an orange blur races down the alley and strikes the man, sending him flying down the alley. Michael glares at Zack, but nods thankfully. Zack nods back before grabbing the man and racing out of the alleyway in a flash.

Michael slowly walks over to the woman. "You alright?" he asks in a comforting tone. The woman nods and gets to her feet, still trembling slightly. Zack zips back in. Michael glances at him before turning back to the woman. "My associate is going to take you to the station so the police can get your statement.". The woman nods. Zack walks over and gently takes the woman by the arm and braces the back of her neck before zipping off in a blur of orange.
