Time seemed to slow down as you used your full body to push Agatha out of harm's way. You saw the knife coming closer and closer, giving you little space or time to defend yourself.
You felt like closing your eyes, but you did not. You were ready to accept whatever injury would come next, but it never came.
Rio's reflexes were as sharp as you expected. The moment she saw you in harm's way, she used every single ounce of pure mental strength to stop herself and the knife from harming you, for she would never forgive herself if something happened to you.
You watched with wide eyes, the sharp point of the knife inches away from piercing your heart, a rather fatal wound.
Yet your magic was still going crazy, and your instincts to protect yourself and Agatha were taking over. Before you knew it, you had blasted Rio from point-blank range and sent her flying back.
"Rio...! ..." you exclaimed, seeing her tossed back into the half-ruined house, her body crashing through an already broken window.
Your eyes were wide, and you parted your lips, speechless at what you had done. Sure, you had been attacking her before, but it was mostly defensive, just helping keep the balance in the battle, and never with the intention of hurting her.
But this one...
You knew she was fine, but it did not help ease the guilt or the shock from actually causing her harm.
"That was one hell of an attack, Sugar," Agatha said as she regained her footing.
"I..."
Before you could find an excuse or comment anything on it, green magic hit you right on the chest. The force knocked the air out of your lungs and sent you on your back.
Gasping for air, you barely registered the small shards of glass piercing through your clothes or the bruises that would be formed later due to the hurtful landing.
"Y/N!" Agatha shouted in surprise and fear.
A manic laughter echoed across the area, carried by the winds and matching the flashing sky above. Rio, fully unharmed, walked out of the house as if she had never been attacked.
Her laughter made your hair stand on end as you lifted your head and struggled to stand up.
"Oh, I always knew you had it in you, baby girl!" she exclaimed, a rather unsettling smile on her black-painted lips. Now we are truly talking!"
Rio had always talked of the power you had been gifted, the raw moon magic running through your veins. The very same magic you always saw as a curse, she saw as a blessing.
You were unique and meant for much more if only you had stopped holding back. And now, finally, you were taking the first step and tapping into your real potential.
"Stay away from her, Rio. It's me you want," Agatha said defensively as she moved to stand between you and her ex.
She went for the attack, trying to keep Rio away and give you time to recover. She had her powers back; she didn't need you risking your life to protect her.
Purple and Green flashed in a beautiful but deadly battle as the two lovers attacked, doing their best to disarm and stop the other.
You grabbed the chance to turn on your stomach and get up, glass shards piercing your exposed skin, but the acute pain was only motivating you to get up.
Suddenly, Agatha was forced to protect herself from a rather powerful attack. She managed to block it partially, but she still felt the hit, sending her on her back; the familiar metallic taste of blood was sensed in her mouth.
