Mon had just finished her meal, and Sam placed the tray aside before sitting on the edge of the bed, watching her closely. Mon turned to face Sam, only to find her uncomfortably close. Her breath hitched as their eyes locked.

Before either could react, the door swung open with a loud thud.

"AGH! What are you doing to my sister, Princess Sam?" Kim's voice was sharp, laced with fury as her eyes darted between Mon and Sam.

Sam immediately jumped back, her face flushing with embarrassment. "It's not like what you think, Kim!" she said quickly, her tone defensive.

But Kim wasn't listening. She pointed an accusing finger at Sam, her voice trembling. "I saw it with my own eyes! You were about to kiss her!"

"Kim, stop!" Mon interjected, sitting up straighter.

Wan appeared at the door, her face stern as she surveyed the chaos. "What's going on here?" she asked, her voice calm but commanding.

Kim turned to Wan, her anger spilling over. "I caught your princess here trying to kiss my sister! What kind of behavior is this?"

Wan's gaze hardened as she turned toward Sam. Her sharp eyes locked onto her, not saying a word at first. She simply nodded toward the door. "Freen, outside. Now."

"Wan, I-" Sam started, but Wan's glare silenced her.

"Now," Wan repeated, her tone icy.

Sam sighed and, with one last glance at Mon, followed Wan out of the room.

Wan led Sam down the corridor until they were far enough from the room. She turned abruptly, her expression a mix of anger and concern.

"What were you thinking, Freen?" Wan hissed, her voice low but intense. "You're crossing a line you can't afford to cross."

Sam clenched her fists, frustration bubbling under her calm exterior. "I wasn't doing anything wrong, Wan. I was just-"

Wan cut her off. "Just what? Hovering over a human like that? Do you realize what's at stake? If you grow too close to her, you'll lose everything-your immortality, your powers, your place in Sora. Is that what you want?"

Sam's jaw tightened. "It's not like that. I was just... making sure she was okay. She's been through a lot. I was worried."

Wan stepped closer, her tone softening slightly but still firm. "Worried? Freen, you're not just worried. I see it in your eyes. You're getting attached, and that's dangerous-for her and for you. You can't afford to care about humans this way."

Sam shook her head, frustration creeping into her voice. "She's not just 'a human,' Wan. She's kind, she's strong, and she doesn't deserve to be left alone. I don't know what this feeling is, but I can't ignore it."

Wan's face fell, her voice laced with sadness now. "You think I don't understand? I've been where you are, Freen. I know how tempting it is to care for them, to want to protect them. But it doesn't end well. They're fragile, mortal. You'll only bring pain-to them and to yourself."

Sam looked away, the weight of Wan's words sinking in. "So what do you expect me to do? Ignore her? Pretend I don't care?"

Wan sighed deeply. "No, Freen. I expect you to remember who you are, where you come from, and the promises we've made. If you let your emotions take over, you'll lose more than you can imagine. Keep your distance, Freen. For her sake and yours."

Sam nodded reluctantly, her heart heavy with the conflict inside her.

Kim crossed her arms, glaring at Mon. "I can't believe you're defending her, Mon. You didn't see how close she was to you!"

Mon sighed, exasperated. "Kim, you're overreacting. She wasn't going to do anything inappropriate."

Kim's voice rose. "How can you be so sure? She's not like us, Mon. You don't know what she's capable of."

Mon reached out, placing a hand on Kim's arm. "I know you're worried, Kim, but Sam hasn't done anything to hurt me. She's been kind, and she's helped me when no one else did. Why can't you trust me on this?"

Kim's expression softened, but her voice was still tinged with concern. "It's not that I don't trust you, Mon. I just don't trust her. She's hiding something. They all are."

Mon hesitated, her mind flashing back to Sam's mysterious words and actions. "Maybe she is," Mon admitted quietly. "But that doesn't mean she's dangerous. I don't know why she's here or why she's helping me, but I feel like I can trust her."

Kim sighed, sitting down beside Mon. "I just don't want you to get hurt. You're my only family, Mon. I can't lose you."

Mon smiled softly, her heart aching for her sister. "You won't lose me, Kim. I promise. But you have to let me make my own choices. Sam isn't the enemy here."

Kim nodded reluctantly, though the doubt in her eyes remained. "Fine. But I'm keeping an eye on her. If she steps out of line, I won't hesitate to step in."

Mon chuckled lightly. "I wouldn't expect anything less from you."

The sisters sat in silence for a moment, their bond strong despite the tension.

Outside the room, Sam leaned against the wall, Wan's words echoing in her mind. She stole a glance at the closed door, her heart conflicted. She didn't know how to navigate her growing feelings, but she knew one thing for certain: staying away from Mon was going to be harder than Wan could ever imagine.
