I want to win him over.

He felt Ren pace right beneath the surface of his skin, clearly a bit antsy at the thought. His cat honestly couldn't understand why they weren't already together.

Licking his lips, Ian fought himself to not think about where his mouth had been nearly every morning the past two weeks. He'd even slept with Grim in his bed a few times during some of their midnight gaming discussions. Or, really, he'd fallen asleep and been allowed to stay.

Waking up snuggled in next to his love each of those days had been heaven.

Mussing up his hair a little bit, Ian sighed and stared down at his turkey and lettuce wrap.

Does he really not love me the way I love him?

The guy let him get away with so much more than a normal person would if he were straight, yet there seemed to be a firm wall he just couldn't managed to get through now. It felt like he was reaching the end of Grim's flexibility.

Ian felt his stomach grumble, but he honestly didn't want to eat for the first time in a long while.

He put the wrap away and went back to work to try and relax his mind again. He actually ended up staying late, working overtime for the first time since he'd moved in with Grim.

It honestly felt good to work off his frustrations, and thankfully the guys who worked overnights were more than happy to have the extra help.

By the time he returned to his locker to grab his phone, since he'd wanted to get lost in his work for a while, his brow furrowed.

There were quite a few text messages, and even two calls from Grim.

Frowning and feeling a little guilty, he quickly tugged his coat on and headed out, immediately dialing Grim's number once he was outside.

"Ren, it's almost four in the morning..." Grim grumbled the moment he picked up the call... on the very first ring.

Ian fidgeted at hearing the nickname the guy recently only used for his cat. He thankfully didn't sound angry, but he did sound rather exhausted.

Why didn't you go to bed, love?

The guy did sometimes stay up late to game, but he'd been really busy with work recently and usually passed out around midnight, at the latest.

"You're done with work?" Grim asked when Ian forgot to respond to his first remark.

"A-ah, yes sir! I stayed late without telling you, sorry," he finally replied, feeling even more guilty as he heard his love's fatigue.

"Good, because I'm almost there," Grim said quietly, startling Ian into hurrying his pace towards the spot Grim usually picked him up at.

"Hey Ian! Have a good night, man! And thanks for the help, we really appreciate it!" one of the nightshift crew called out as he waved his cigarette in the air.

Ian waved back, though he didn't say anything because he didn't want to yell through the phone.

The sound of a familiar car pulling up behind him drew his attention immediately back that way. Then, after only a moment, and to his surprise, he saw Grim get out of the driver's side and sleepily walk over to slip into the passenger's seat.

Ah!

Hurrying forward, Ian quickly leaned into the passenger's side and got Grim's seatbelt buckled for him, since he seemed to be just about on the edge of passing out, then he made his way around to the other side and dropped down into the driver's seat.
