Adrian's POV
"Not so fast," I muttered, gripping her wrist tightly before spinning her around and slamming her against the lockers. The impact echoed down the empty hallway. Those damned jhumkas of her jingled again, breaking the silence like a taunt, I hated how they sounded so....right.
Distracting...just like her! Damn...
For a moment, she froze, her wide eyes flickering with surprise, but that fire of hers was still there, burning behind her dark, honey brown gaze. It annoyed me. Her endless need to argue and how she got under my skin since day one! Her eyes glaring at me.
Up close, I couldn't ignore the details that I never wanted to notice. I hated how close she was. I hated how I noticed every damn detail about her face- her eyelashes, a small mole above her left cheekbone, that sharp jawline and how her lips were parted, trembling with anger,as if to curse me. But her breath was uneven now. She's definitely not used to being cornered like this.
Good. She should be scared. She should know who's in control.
But then, there was her scent-vanilla with a mild note of sandalwood, something faintly sweet, something infuriatingly her.
"Let me go!" She snapped, her voice rising as she twisted her wrist against my grip.
I leaned in,lowering my voice, "you're louder than necessary. Do you know you should shutup?"
Her glare intensified, and her voice only got lower "Shut up?! Oh hell no! I'll talk, even scream if I want to. Who do you think you are to boss around?!"
"Lower your voice." I hissed, leaning closer until my face was mere inches away from hers. "I doubt you want someone hearing this."
Her lips parted and she raised her voice even more "oh, I do! Infact, I'll make sure even Mr. Edward knows-"
I pressed my free hand against the lockers beside her head, cutting her off with a sharp, “Shh.” My gaze bore into hers, my tone cold and firm. “stop, being. Annoying.”
Her breath hitched.
I noticed.
“You’ve been a thorn in my side since the first day we met,” I growled, my voice dripping with venom. “Every time you open your mouth, it’s nothing but trouble.”
Her eyes narrowed, that scowl of hers deepening. “Oh, really? You’re one to talk. You think you can just push people around and expect them to stay silent?”
I scoffed, the sound harsh. “Don’t act like you’re some victim here. From the moment I almost ran you over—”
“You mean when you weren’t looking where you were going!” she shot back, cutting me off with a sharp glare.
Her head tilted to the side, when I noticed a small, minimal butterfly tattoo behind her ears. It should not matter, but it did! It was so off the place for someone soo damn fiery and annoying standing in front of me.
