Adrian's POV

The light filtered through the windows, casting a golden glow over my desk.I was zoned out, tapping on my textbook mindlessly with my pen.The faint rhythm matching exactly with the soft beats of my song. Mr. james's voice droned in the background. My mind wasn't on the lecture though I was sitting there physically; It was far away;Trying to fill in the puzzle...something was missing in my composition and it was haunting me since the last 3 days-something was missing...a note,a chord?

I sighed, still looking out of the window when my thoughts were cut out by prof James's familiar voice "we have a new transfer student" his words breaking through my thoughts...I didn't bother looking up.

Transfers were nothing new, they came and went.none of them ever really staying long enough to matter.

"Welcome her,she's Anya,from India."

My pen stilled in mid-tap. An unfamiliar name, soft and poetic,I didn't bother to look up. Instead,I heard the buzz of students, exchanging glances and opinions about the new girl. I could almost picture their faces.

"...take a seat beside Adrian" is the only thing I heard which made me snap out of my daze and i saw her. My eyes narrowed slightly. She stood next to mr. james's desk, Her posture stiff but poised. Her eyes, honey brown and sharp, wandered around the classroom with a soft smile which later shifted into something.... unreadable?

She didn't look like most people here-her confidence was quiter, understated. Though I could observe the weight those gazes had on her.

She started walking throught the rows, The faintest hint of vanilla and something else following her,and something tugged at my memory.

No way.

It was her.

The one who appeared in front of my speeding as if she had a death wish.our eyes met once again which she quickly moved to her desk.

My lips twitched into a smirk, almost involuntarily-not am apologetic smirk, I didn't owe her one. If anything, she wanted to get under my wheels. It was a confident smirk.

So she has friends?

I wondered as I saw her exchanging smile with hazel. She's a good human...no trouble here.

"Adrian" prof James called out right when the lecture was about to end, making me glance up at him "give her your notes.." he said, Gesturing towards Anya. My eyes following him, finally stopping on her side profile.

"Don't forget to take the copies of the last few lectures you've missed." Anya nodded at his words and he left right when the bell rang.

My arm stretched as I kept my physics book on her desk which grabbed her attention as she glanced up in my direction..."thanks" she muttered, Her tone not giving me a 'satisfied thanks' but I considered it anyways.

"So you are familiar with the art of politeness?" I asked, slightest smirk playing on my lips even though my gaze was sharp, maintaining my cold and aloof nature.

"I try to keep my manners in check-unlike some people." My smirk widened as I crossed my arms and leaned back against my chair, looking away intrigued.

Feisty.

Her eyes carried fire with a hint of sass...

Annoying but intriguing?

I snapped back again from my thoughts when Tyler patted my shoulder..

"Let's go, Let's grab some lunch..everyone's waiting." Tyler said

I picked out my phone "Go ahead, I'll join y'all in a moment" I replied checking my e-mails for something specific

Tyler groaned "You know you should really stop caring so much about your gigs-"

I shot him a look. Enough to keep him shut for now. He's already distracted by something...I can feel it. I swiped my inbox, finally finding that one email 'performace opportunity at vespara'.

My fingers hovered over the screen as I opened the email, Anticipating the response.

I did it!

I couldn't breath for a moment, this gig is going to be a damn great push in my musical journey.

I finally shoved my phone in my pockets and glanced up-

Amy? I huffed, looking away annoyed when will she stop this?

Newbie's got some trouble.
