Author's POV

The hallways of larkspur were dim, almost empty as it is was late evening.Anya was walking through the vacant hallways making her way to the art studio, her mind still replaying how Adrian had accused her of being scared to join the band. She was pulled out of her mindless loop of thinking when she heard a haunting melody of something....

curious, she twisted the knob of the music hall and walked in partly, she was frozen.her sketchpad forgotten as she saw Adrian on the grand piano, his fingers danced across the keys, filling the room with beautiful vibration of melodies.

When he finally noticed her,he didn't stop playing...his sage green eyes met her honey brown ones with an intensity that made her gaze fall down to his fingers again.

"You always spy on people or is it just me?" His voice was cold and distant almost annoyed for interrupting his peace.

"I thought basketball guys weren't supposed to be mysterious" anya countered as she closed the door behind her, making her bangles jingle softly.

Adrian's lips twitched into a smirk "guess I'm full of surprises."

"And you missed a chord before" she said in a matter-of-fact tone. His fingers froze up on the keys,it was the first time he missed a chord she had actually pointed that out.

"Did I?" he asked coolly, though there was a flicker of something...annoyance? In his eyes.

"Maybe you're not as flawless as you pretend to be." Anya shot back, walking towards the grand piano,"and just so you know, I'll join the band,I'm informing Tyler." She said turning back to leave and heading towards the door-

"I'm the leader, just so you know," he said, making her stop in her tracks. His smirk evident in his voice and the way he deliberately yet distantly said 'just so you know',"everything here happens according to my rules." He glanced looking over his shoulders, his gaze distant and cold, unlike his voice.

Her fists cleanched as she heard him. Her back to him. The tension in the room hung heavy, thick with unspoken defiance. She didn't turn around, but her voice was sharp as she finally spoke, "we'll see about that,Marshall."

The door clicked shut behind her, Adrian reminded still by the piano,"let's see what you got,Bhatt" he murmured,a hind of confident smirk on his lips.

His voice held a quiet challenge, the weight of his words lingering in the air as the sound of the piano echoed softly in the distance. Adrian's gaze remained fixed ahead, a flicker of something-curiosity?-glimmering in his sharp eyes.

It was a Saturday morning at larkspur, with the usual weekday hustle replaced by a serene atmosphere. The sun streamed gently through the tall windows with a antique silhouette. The soft rays hitting the polished floor in a certain angle, making every other person passing by gleam, their outlines rimmed by the light.

Anya and hazel were strolling in the hallway, her lazy fit for the day- a dark sage green sweater layered over a muted grey tank top, the oversized neck and sleeves giving a stylish yet laid back aesthetic, A small pendent necklace and black pants...
