Anya's POV
First, he tried to kill me. Then, he humiliated me in the rain, and, as if that wasn't enough, he handed me his hoodie like some chivalrous hero with that damn annoying smirk!
Mann toh karta hai jaan le lu iski
(I feel like I should kill him)And now? Now, he's gone and started the English group assignment without me!
My blood boiled as I barged into the library, my steps quick and determined. Tyler said Adrian would be here, and sure enough, there he was-sitting at one of the desks like he had no care in the world.
Wait a second. He's wearing glasses?
I paused for half a second. I'd never seen him wear them before. And, to my utter annoyance, he looked... annoyingly focused. His brow furrowed, lips pressed into a thin line, the picture of calm productivity.
Except in the studio. That's the only other time I've seen him this zoned in.
But how dare he look so composed after completely ruining my sanity?
I didn't think-I marched over and smacked my hand down onto the table, the sound echoing far louder than I expected. "How dare you start the assignment without me?!"
He didn't even flinch. Instead, he looked up at me, calm as ever, those sage-green eyes of his meeting mine without the slightest hint of guilt.
I hate him.
The librarian, with her signature disapproving glare, peered over her desk, and I could feel the eyes of a few other students turning our way.
I sucked in a breath, trying to steady myself, though my glare stayed firmly fixed on Adrian. He, of course, remained annoyingly unbothered. Without a word, he stood, grabbed a book, and strolled toward the shelves like I wasn't even there.
Oh, he did not just ignore me.
Bohot hua (this is too much!)
I followed him, weaving through the shelves. "Excuse me? Are you deaf?" I snapped, my voice a little too loud for the library.
That got his attention.
He stopped abruptly, turning on his heel. His hands slid into his pockets as he looked at me, his gaze sharp and unyielding.
My breath hitched. I took a step back, only to feel the hard press of the bookshelf behind me.
He leaned slightly forward, his voice low but clear. "What's your problem?"
Meri problem? Meri? (My problem? My?)
I blinked, caught off guard by the sheer weight of his presence in such a small space. For a second, I couldn't think of a single retort.
"Adrian, stop." My voice wavered again.
What is wrong with you, Anya? Pull it together.
He smirked-a small, infuriating curve of his lips that sent my irritation spiraling.
I glared, shoving him back forcefully by the chest. "You started the assignment without me? The one the professor assigned for us to do together?"
He looked away briefly, his lips twitching into another maddening smirk.
"I'll break your face-"
"Wanna try?" he interrupted
"Answer me!"
He finally turned back, his voice cold and clipped. "I don't need you for the assignment."
I scoffed, incredulous. "Neither do I, but it's a group assignment!" My voice rose in frustration, only for him to casually press his thumb over my lips, silencing me.
