The sun was beginning to set on the first day of the Duel Carnival. Yuma, Kai, Anna and Tori were still going around the city hoping to find anymore duelists.
Tori: Yuma has four pieces and Kai has two.
Yuma: Yes, I've got the lead now.
Tori: Yuma, please don't turn this into a competition.
Kai: It won't be long till I catch up.
Captain Corn: Ahoy, mateys! Captain Corn suddenly shouted arriving in spiritual form.
Kai & Yuma: Gah! The boys fell fall surprised.
Yuma: Captain Corn?!
Captain Corn: That's me!
Kai: But wait. I thought you like disappeared or something.
Captain Corn: Aye. I did. But that was only temporary.
Cologne: Then why are you here? You're stinking up the place with your corniness. She said plugging her nose.
Tori: Uh, Yuma? Who are you and Kai talking to?
Yuma: Another one of his duel spirit friends. Cologne was bad enough.
Cologne: What'd you say?!
Yuma: You heard me!
Anna: Oh, don't tell me he's got you two believing this duel spirit baloney too!
Kai: Ignore her. She's just jealous cause her spirits never talk to her.
Anna: Well even if I want to, I'm just fine without talking to them.
Kai: They're probably scared of you cause of that time you beat up that electrician that came to my house.
Anna: I only attacked him because you shouted that he was a burglar.
Kai: Then there was that time you broke your dad's guitar that one time.
Anna: After which I generously gave up my allowance for five months so he could get another one.
Kai: A tacky gesture from a tacky girl!💢
Anna: How dare you!💢
Kai & Anna: [Growling]
Tori: Not this again.💧
Astral: Greetings, Captain. What brings you here?
Captain Corn: Ya ha ha har! Tis that Astral I see? How are you lad?
Tori: So who is this spirit you're talking to?
Kai: Well, it's kind of a long story.
Captain Corn: You see before I was the swashbuckling charmer you see now, I used to be just a regular ear of corn. Then one day a strange card came flying down and landed right in front of me. Before I knew it, I was overflowing with this strange power. And that's how I changed from a mere veggie to the dapping fellow that floats before ye!
Kai: Is what he says.
Cologne: I know I said it before, but you really do sound corny.
Tori: So, a Number card made him like this?
Captain Corn: Exactly! And believe me, I ain't the only one. I get the feeling lots a Number cards brought things like me to life.
BOOM BZZZZT CRASH
Kai, Yuma, Anna & Tori: !! They were all startled by what sounded like Thunder.
Kai: What the?!
Yuma: Hey, look! Yuma pointed in a certain direction. They looked to see electricity being drawn to a remote location.
