They both stood once more at the doors of yet another castle. This one looked a little run-down, almost abandoned. But the duo could still hear the faint sound of machinery operating in the halls. Contrast to the rock walls of the first castle, this one looked like a lab, a research facility even.
The walls were concrete with metal rods placed for support, the insides clanging with the movement of some kind of heavy machinery. Somehow, there were no footsteps. No group movements, not even light, was shining outside the windows of the castle. Was this even the right castle?
This time, Alli wasn't exactly fearful or anxious. She was more or so... emotionless. She was visibly interested at the castle, yet unscathed by whatever lurks inside. Aizen didn't speak. Well, he didn't need to speak to be able to enter. Slowly, they passed the doors into the main halls of the castle.
Despite the shining sun during the day, the halls were nearly pitch black, excluding the occasional flickering light or window light. Aizen couldn't do much but reach around to maybe see if there was a flashlight anywhere. This was where Alli came in handy.
Alli: oh, right.
She stated blankly. Luckily, she charged her phone before she went out for her walk. Alli just turned on flashlight mode. A quick reminder of her life before the whole eldritch abomination that is crossing parallel realities. Oh, and her weird super cool main character powers, too.
Aizen: What's that..?
Alli: A phone.
Aizen: ..what does it do?
